I personally like the scale. It allows you to focuse more on the details and less on thestructure. I also think my 2011 falcon is already too big to find a spot for and i cant imagine having a good dissplay place for the UCS one.

Sexy beast right there. I wish lego would release official sets like these where they aren't ucs and they aren't play sets, but instead actual affordable models that look nice and hold up. I thought the set was good, but after watching this it's hard to look at it without thinking about how much better this model is.
@2bricks4 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! Well luckily we Lego fans have the ability to share our models! It’s obviously not as convenient as buying a boxed set but at least we can do it!
@darthbane26694 жыл бұрын
@@2bricks Sadly I am part of that crowd that needs the convenience of boxed organized sets. I've got a couple of mocs going huge ones actually and it's gonna be years before I finally finish them as I'm just not too motivated. Started too big of scale talking 15k pieces for the sd by that russian guy with the full interior...haven't started book 2 have the pieces but I actually prefer legos official 600 dollar boxed set as I dont care about interior I rather see the outside.
@midshipman86544 жыл бұрын
BEEFY BOI agreed. This in between is definitely my style. If we want to draw a comparison, kind of like the Master Grade or Real grade of Gunpla vs the two extremes of high grade and perfect grade. Something that is definitely not just a toy, but also not something that only a die hard fan would get. I liked the play set millennium falcon, but I felt the interior was a bit bare.
@Danilego4 жыл бұрын
Well, the affordable part is gonna be difficult with LEGO but I think the last play scale Star Destroyer they made was pretty great with full interior! The UCS one was disappointing for me, 700 dollars and they couldn't even fit an interior, not even a tiny one! For that price, I might as well just go for a MOC

@midshipman86544 жыл бұрын
Darth Bane I very much disagree. At the point of complexity that is ucs, it is already mostly a display piece not made for movement. At that point the aesthetics is king. You are not going to be putting a carrying handle on a Michelangelo if you get my drift.
@josephmead83254 жыл бұрын
@@midshipman8654 Having just recently built the UCS Falcon, I can assure both of you that the technic structure inside it is GENIUS. The interiors are built on technic plates that clip into the main structure and, if anything, strengthen it. They managed to work in these interiors around the necessary skeleton. So adding more interior would weaken the model, and taking them away wouldn't really strengthen it much. Trust the Danes, they know what they're doing XD

I’ve gotten back into lego recently after a long hiatus after my childhood lego years (89-99). Star Wars was the last theme I was into in late ‘99 and now that I’m back, obviously I’m into the new Star Wars stuff, the new bluish gray colors and of course, I want a Millennium Falcon. I can’t bring myself to spend $800 on the U S falcon so my plan is to buy this set and do these modifications to have an ultimate display Falcon for my shelf. The details and a relatively large size is all I really care about, and this is a great compromise between UCS and play-scale. Beautiful rendition, I’m going to copy your design as best I can! At first I thought this would be just smooth tiles slapped on top of the original set, but this is way more than that. Can't believe you fit all of the interior and exterior detail, two gunner positions with clear windows and the open corridor from the cockpit. There is so much in here and it looks great. I'd buy this instead of the UCS model even if it was 300 dollars. So much easier to display too without taking your whole room with it. Some structural matters like the cockpit attachment are obvious limitations why Lego couldn't sell this, but honestly those could be fixed with new unique molds for this like the cockpit piece. And it's crazy to think that this would be possible in this scale.
@2bricks Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much!!! I agree that Lego should be doing models like this kind of quality as an in between solution for those who can’t afford UCS but want something better than playscale - call it Lego elite series or something, charge $300 for a highly detailed playscale model like this and bing, bang, boom!

Wait so do the falcons turrets in the movies break the rules of the models because I’ve noticed on a lot of thints that the turrets are restricted to not be able to face all the way back but in the movies they do.
@2bricks4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the movies cheat a lot with different elements of the Falcon like the interior not lining up with the exterior. I also read a theory that in order to do what the turrets are shown to be able to do in the movie the whole central section would have to be able to rotate
@tam22374 жыл бұрын
2bricks yeah, they also really don’t make sense. Honestly the gunnery turret has to be the most universe breaking part of the Falcon. The way they sit has it to where they can only see above or beneath meaning that they have huge blind spots, but I guess the sensors on the consoles are how they see around the falcon, also the illegal ways they aim the turrets, it’s also a bit confusing that they don’t get too disoriented after sitting sideways on a rotating seat after so long, also as you said with how it rotates around the way it does when showing their perspective the entire section would have to turn. Also something that I’ve noticed is that the lower turret is the most used one in the sequel trilogy, and I can see it making sense as there can easily be more threats to the falcon below it like during the battle of Crait but in other scenarios it all depends on the surroundings, which I’ve noticed are usually small and enclosed locations like the crystal caves, the junkyard of Jakku, the mines of the Sinta Glacier Colony, etc. I don’t know, the turrets really are an anomaly.

I have the 2015 millennium falcon but could you do a tutorial on how to mod the cockpit as I want to upgrade my cockpit
@2bricks4 жыл бұрын
That’s an interesting idea though with the design of those falcons I’m not sure how feasible it would be. Let me think about this one!

Whaoo this is amazing ! Great job ! When i’m gonna get the new lego falcon i’m gonna try something like that 😂 btw for the antenna you could use kopaka shield in grey it could work too
@2bricks4 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! That could totally work, and I tried it actually! It gets quite thick when you double it up with the regular dish though :) it definitely gives you an accurate look though!

Amazing model! By the way LEGO released a printed head for the ball that Luke trains with, so you can use that. It is in the mos Eisley cantina set.

@2bricks I was going to purchase your instructions because I love the build. Do you include a bricklink list of parts or anything to help me get all this stuff as I'm new to modding but I must build this. Sorry for the noob question but trying to get more info. Thanks in advance
@2bricks3 жыл бұрын
Yeah no worries! So the parts list is included there on rebrickable and you can either order parts through links they provide or take the parts list over to brick link or any other aftermarket lego marketplace to track down the pieces. Bricklink has a feature called “easy buy” where it analyzes the parts you want and generates the purchases for you, getting the parts as cheaply and from as few sellers as possible!

@@2bricks thanks so much for the info. I love what you did for the landing gear on the bottom of the ship as well once I saw that and the interior I was sold. Keep up the great work and I'll be looking to see what else you come with as I subscribed.

How many pieces are in this moc and do you hope that Lego will make a system scale millenium falcon like this eventually?
@2bricks4 жыл бұрын
This moc has 3208 pieces!

You should put lego hands on the flight sticks kinda like a flight wheel thingy
@julianrey944 жыл бұрын
how were you able to get greebling done on the side where the cockpit is I'm doing something similar but I can't find out how to do this
@2bricks4 жыл бұрын
Kinda hard to know exactly what you mean specifically but are you referring to the part on the side of the mandibles where I have the 2 stud shooters without their trigger pieces?
@julianrey944 жыл бұрын
2bricks yes I do mean that
@2bricks4 жыл бұрын
Oh ok so what about it do you want to know?
