Given that for the rest of the hunt he's been consistently using Greatsword, it's likely he specifically has 2 weapons that are switchable inbetween for the trailer outright.

Hear me out!!! 2:31 The hunter goes into a stance and then does a rising slash, the attack hits then it moves into the epic cinematic move. Later at 2:58 the hunter enters the same stance then goes into a block, which then leads into the epic sword in mouth block. PS. I think that this not a weapon dependent thing, I think every weapon will have the stance and cool moves that follow.

Saw a good reddit post that has info not on the English site. On the Japanese PlayStation blog some extra details. 1. Wounding system like clutch claw but instead you attack the same area until it is wounded instead of grabbing on. 2. Focus mode as shown on website but also says "scoutflies will turn red and mark weak wounds and weak points", so scoutflies seem to be back.

On the website, there is confirmation that each locale will have two weather based variants. The mention of locales rules out the open world, but it seems they won’t be divided into zones and will be much bigger. Also interested what other locales will be part of our experience, the fact it’s set in the „forbiddden lands” doesn’t really tell us much about that. There’s also info on the monsters, including the mount. And confirmation of large monsters forming herds. So hyped for this game, glad that they released a new trailer for me to rewatch ten thousand times! Also the state of the game right now makes me think a playable demo is coming soon

According to the official site our new mount is called a Seikret and is gonna work like a Palamut...you can have it auto track a location by scent to get you there, sharpen, heal, gather, and all that while on the monster BUT it has a Weapon Bag for letting you switch between two weapons mid hunt without going back to camp. That's gonna be bonkers to do and I'm looking forward to seeing if they let us turn it into a Chocobo with a Final Fantasy crossover event lol.

this definitely is a world + rise game. Greatsword moves faster than usual, the mount (palamutre) and the sos flare coming back, the switching between weapons like the switch skill but instead on the dino mount. But it also has new movesets and a struggle animation between the hunter and monster which is completely new.
