The game has some glaring issues but since it is early access, they'll get ironed out eventually I hope. Even if issues persist though, I'd still recommend snagging the game at a half price discount in the future, it has got some fun aspects.

Tbh I'm on a decent mid/high tier pc setup. I've had problems with games recently like hogwarts legacy. If a game isn't optimised well enough then I struggle to even get 60fps at 1440p high but in another game I can max it and get into the 120s/140s. I thought sons of the forest would struggle on my 3070 (to get decent settings that is) but actually hits over 80fps on the higher settings at 1440p. For an early access title it's running near perfect. I get more stutters in the orginal game than the sequal. 3070 5600x.

@@12345langham I haven't played SOTF but I have The Forest , I found the more simple survival mechanics a little boring , is SOTF more challenging than The Forest? I get it's not as challenging survival wise as green hell but I'm hopeful it's better than The first Forest game (which I still loved ) For me personally I love the difficulty and mico-management needs of Green Hell, I did end up turning off the leach settings tho and even the sanity , kept sanity on leaches on my first playthrough but turned off for dlc. If you are on PC you can mod green hell to make it easier, including console commands for adding more stuff like good equipment and some first aid on hand . Green Hell as I mentioned also has custom difficulty you can remove sanity , leaches even remove poisonous animals from your game but keep nutrient depletion high. So you might have snakes on but turn off stingrays and spiders so you get bitten less. The leach feature though I think everybody could do without it's just annoying.

The zip line is 100% ridiculous, but the arrow is on the correct side of the bow for a left-handed finger draw. The actual weird part is shooting the bow left-handed when the zip line seems to have been shot right-handed and right eye dominant, and all other animations probably also indicate right-handedness.

Its the best PVE survival game for sure. The creature AI is the most complex you'll see and its mind blowing at times to see the enemies interactions. Building is mode is cool too and since you get Kevin as a farm bot, bringing mats to the construction site isnt as boring as in the first "Foredt game". Definitely a 9.7/10 for pve survival

Here is a real opinion on the game: The map is beautiful, they took ALOT of detail in the map. The weather is ambient and nice, the enemies honestly are just way too easy. Me and my few friends kind of started speed running with spears on our first play of the story. Didn’t even use the guns because we usually didn’t have ammo for them anyways. Getting gliders kind of takes away a lot from the game because then there’s no need to explore and you just fly every where. PVE is just overall bland, once you fight one type of mutant once, you’ve fought it 100 times.

I loved Forest 2 but Forest 1 playing it "blind" and alone was something else man, very scary but so rewarding. Subnautica also greatness when you know nothing and explore by yourself.
