ASA is scheduled to get new story DLCs and premium mods will bring them some money. 2024 release date is from Snail Games and they still have it on their web site. Extra Life event stream cleared some things about the future of Ark. No specific dates but a lot of usefull info that i havent seen mentioned apart from Raasclark while on that stream with founders of WildCard.

Rooted and State of Decay 3 have been promising release for for the past 2 years and haven't done anything but keep moving the release dates around. I have doubt that either one will be released any time in this decade. I removed Rooted from my Steam wishlist after waiting for it for 2 years. Both games may be out by the time I get to the old folks home.

Yeah, I thought that too. They told us a few month ago, that they have big problems with ASA and stopped development on Ark 2. So there is no Ark 2 in the next few years. Maybe 2028.

@@senast In Extra Life event it was said that they want to transition from ASA to Ark 2 and that going from ASE to Ark 2 made no sense as it would go from UE4 to UE5 aswell. Earliest we can expect Ark 2 is after all story maps are remastered for ASA including those new DLCs that are coming so once Gen 2 happens and if there will be a story DLC after Gen 2 to transition into Ark 2. Info that Ark 2 will release at the end of 2024 is almost a year old and i dont think it was ever true.

2024 release date comes from roadmap that was released almost a year ago. There were 2 different roadmaps released back then. One from WildCard and other from Snail Games. I think it was on Snail Games one. You can also find it on Snail Games web site. WildCard's roadmap doesnt even have Ark 2 if i remember correctly. Also it was said in Extra Life event that when ASA story is finished they want to transition to Ark 2 (obviously i dont remember wording anymore). Ark 2 is not happening until those new story DLCs are released and all maps atleast up to Gen 2 are done remastering. Right now we are scheduled to learn something new about first new story DLCs that is coming after Extintion is remastered in ASA before end of this year.

Who knows? Snail Games still believes it's gonna be end of 2024 as they still have it on their website but WildCard did not even mentioned Ark 2 when they released their roadmap about a year ago. Snail Games were always the bad part of Ark ever since they bought WildCard. If Ark 2 is still happening earliest we can expect it is after ASA releases all story maps up to Gen 2 including all new DLCs that are gonna happen. We know of one that is going to happen after Extinction and it is scheduled that we get more info about that before end of the year.

ark 2 wont happen anytime before 2027, IF they even continue it. they are already saying they ran into money issues with Ark: Ascended, and that was to generate money for Ark 2... lol Edit: Ark: Ascended road map goes well into 2025 (Fjordor in Oct. 2025) and they've had a month delay on Scorched Earth release from that same map so dont expect much. not to mention if you did see any gameplay, its so far from release that it could be totally different.

@@SavedEight Not really. Although that road map puts Fjordur in October 2025, Fjordur isnt a story map and that roadmap has been outdated for atleast 8 months. Community maps are not lore maps and release of Ark 2 isnt tied to them at all. Once all story maps including those 2 new ones are done there is nothing in ASA for WC to continue to generate income apart from premium mods and that isnt that big share as they only get 50% and that is split between WC, Snail Games, Nitrado i think too and Curseforge. Also as far as i know there was no gameplay released. There are many videos titled Ark 2 gameplay but those are just samples made in UE 5 and has nothing to do with Ark 2. Only thing that was officially released were couple of cgi trailers and some artwork.
