People are eventually going to train AI on the known music of a famous composer, and apply it to his fragments and unfinished works to come up with renditions of what the piece might've been like if completed. Simply amazing to think. After all these years, it was really discovered again and heard for the first time again and the best part played by an ultimate professional on a harpsichord.
@MrEli7682 ай бұрын
Well, that's like a piece (from someone else) that I heard on late night NPR, I forget who it was by, but it was composed in the 1500's, played once, hidden, then when it was found again in the 1940's, it was played again while being recorded, and (last I checked) never played again except for the recording
@jacobladder555629 күн бұрын
@@MrEli768 "Spem in alium" is a monumental 40-part motet composed by Thomas Tallis in the 16th century, most likely in 1570. It is one of the most intricate and grand works from the Renaissance period, featuring 40 independent voice parts. The piece was lost to history for centuries, largely because the original manuscript was misplaced. In the 1940s, a recording of the motet was made when the music was rediscovered. The piece had been kept hidden and forgotten for years, but it was revived by a conductor and musicologist named Sir David Willcocks, who was instrumental in bringing the work back to life. The recording made in the 1940s, performed by a large choir, was one of the few known renditions of "Spem in alium," and it's considered the definitive recording.

Whilst I love Mozart on the piano, the harpsicord really shows off his talent. Thank you!
@arthuroldale-ki2evАй бұрын
In a way it is strange that the piano was seen as technological replacement to the harpsicord, as they are so different, the fact that one plucks, while the other hits the string making a very different sound , the one being as important as the other. The Harpsicord certainly transports one back to the period when the music was composed.

That's true. For posterity Mozart only publicized his very best music to establish his legendary status. I'm glad he decided to throw in compositions like this one which he hid away.
