This build is fun enough compared to other necro builds that it is in fact the most efficient build for me because every other necro build has this annoying passive: "Every minute you build up stacks of boredom. At 100 stacks you become Extremely Bored for next 2 hours. While Extremely Bored your overall efficiency is reduced by 50% and your sanity decreases 200% faster."

Something you didn't touch on with having Decrepify as an active skill: For those that don't already know, having a skill set with a rune, means that if that skill is triggered by an item you get the skill with whatever rune you have applied, instead of just the generic version of that skill.

so i have never been able to make it past about level 10 with any class other than Barbarian but i finally committed to giving a necromancer a fair shake and i am so glad i did. I am really enjoying the necromancer.

So far I'm up to gr 103 solo. Alot of my pieces arent even ancient or augmented yet. I use ice spears with the lost time off hand buff as I dont take a dash skill. Captain crimsons for the cooldown/reduction/dmg/ armor bonus for using crimsons while it gives you more immediate use on bone armor. I use wreapers wraps with the health globe passive to help with resource management, plus the constant supply of health helps survivability. Along with blood siphon with the skill that pulls globes to you whenever you need them, which is helpful if your getting surrounded by enemies and cant run around to collect them. I've been thinking of uncubing dayntees binding for those frost gloves to help with dmg output as this build is really tanky. Edit: Just tried frostburns in cube instead of dayntees, the extra damage really helps. Largest observed hit so far has been 30 Trillion, without power up shrine. Just make sure to curse EVERYTHING because your alot more squishy without Dayntees. Another Edit: anybody who says this set sucks obviously hasnt even tried it yet. I'm still climbing, and like I said above, my equipment isnt even the best it can be yet.

Yes, there are several variations of builds based on this set that I have been testing. Various mixtures of Devour, Reaper's Wraps, LotD, Obsidian Ring, Frostburn, Reilena's Shadowhook, Trag'Oul's Fang, Captain Crimson's, Aughild's, Life From Death, Serration, Witching Hour, Gogok, and "no curses at all". Obviously the Maltorius' Spike is always required. I think the ability to significantly reduce the cooldown of LotD with Obsidian Ring procs from spamming Bone Spear is being largely overlooked with this set. Since the new DH set is getting ALL of the attention right now, it may take some time before optimized and/or specialized builds based on this new Necro set emerge. I agree that the set may not be as bad as some people are saying.

Fun build. I like Steuart's Greaves in place of Razeth's Volition in Kanai's Cube. You give up tankiness but gain a lot of speed. It lets you position a lot easier for those long distance bone spears and you can keep up with all those hypersonic demon hunters this season in group runs.

The problem isn't the set, it's the people showcasing it all have it built incorrectly. The damage my bone spear build does far exceeds whatever is used in this video. Let me clue you in, using CoE (Convention of Elements, makes you lose massive amounts of damage.

I appreciate them making the effort to push an ability that doesn't rely on Land of the Dead for max damage output... but Bone Spear has never been a rewarding ability to push. Would have been nice to see them push something like Death Nova or Corpse Explosion (and just make the set remove the corpse requirement to remove reliance on LotD windows).

I really love this set just like Rhykker.....no huge CD / no corpse needed / no Land of the Dead.......However I switched the off-hand with Lost Time; who synergises well with Bone Armor's HoA for more walking speed...Right now I can do GR90 with less than 800 Paragon and missing lots of Ancient / Primal pieces....I say it's decent...but hell of a ride playing it

Hey folks, this is... confusing. If all curses are applied at once, why not choose one of the two aura curses and not worry about manually casting a specific curse? Or does it have to be an manually cast curse to gain the benefit?

The thing that annoys me on Necros is the look on Bone Armour. Sure, it looks cool, but it always looks the same and it doesn't matter how you transmogged your gear cos you want to have Bone Armour on all the time. I'd rather Bone Armour look more like WoW's DK Bone Storm or Marrowrend.

I use this build while having Maltorius' Petrified Spike equipped and Reilana's Shadowhook in the cube. Slightly less damage but you don't have to constantly spam bone armor because of Scythe of the Cycle.

Would you mind explaining what the purpose behind some of your choices are? I can't see the benefit of cursed scythe when you have automatic all curses baked into hardcasting decrepify. Wouldn't going frost scythe and lost time offhand make more sense than cursed scythe + "stat stick"? Similarly confused about harvest of anguish over dislocation just because you're also using zeis and bone prison for krysbins - surely a reliable non RNG source of stun would be a lot better than not having it?

I'd like to know what builds are being used to get to this point? I am curenlty using the Rathma Army of the Dead build but the timer on AotD amkes me stand around (or run around) while waiting for the timer to fizzle out. Masquerade of the Burning Carnival is not easily achieved and you must have a decent pre MoBC set up to go through the higher rifts to assure higher end drops quickly.

I came back to Diablo about a month ago for the first time since RoS released, the video and build is super awesome helped me get past GR 29 which I was stuck on cuz I didn't understand how sets and stuff work or drop but I figured it out, now I got all the pieces in the video but can't push any further than GR97, I'm paragon 687 and my bane of trapped, stricken and zeist stone is at lvl 30 each, are they to low to push any further?

The more you can level your gems the better. Also try to find ancient or primal items and upgrade your items in Kanai's Cube for extra damage upgrades. Also consider the tipps for re-rolling specific stats on your items.

so there a question about the passive. simulacrum cursed form, does the aura of frailty apply all three curses? if it does and i can see that you walking through horde of mob it should automatic put curse on them? also there a Passive for the curse to last forever? so wouldn't it work better with spreading malediction? unless im mistaken on how they work. and if im not mistaken then replace serration with it would give more stable dmg increase as malediction dont have cap i think?

The belt gives you a huge amount of DR. However the build already has a huge amount. So overall you’re not losing a big percentage but by itself you are. The damaged gained by WH isn’t much compared to the DR gained from the BiS but would still be viable.

this build is great but im kinda lazymancer. so i changed it into devouring aura + aura of frailty + requeim cereplate (as kanai cube). for the bone spear, i changed into teeth as both aura are short ranged, and it work but not so high damage as blighted marrow and half tanky.

As I'm looking here at my Bone Ringer, does the Bone Spear damage only come on the primal ancient versions? Mine currently increases Command Skeleton which does no good here. The other stack is Siphon Blood which is also no good in this case...

I started putting this build together, I have the 2-piece set for the Masquerade of the Burning Carnival, but my Simulacrums are not up 100% of the time. I cast the ability, they are active for a short period of time, and then they die. Does this set no longer work as described?

I am wondering the same thing. Farmed it up and the simulacrums last 10 seconds, 120 second cd. 10 seconds of fun 110 seconds of running around trying to not die. No, I don't have haunted visions yet.

What GR were you running on in the background for this gameplay? We know it’s an underwhelming set but I’m hoping to get it solid enough to farm GR 110 for gem leveling and use it for T16 stuff

GR 105. It crushes T16 easily. With enough practice/optimization, it can likely go up to 110. Not sure it can speed-farm 110 though

So I just got basics of the stuff listed here to try out, the 25% life to cast then 5% ticking is killing off my guys... Is it an issue with hps/hph or what is the strat to offset the loss? Also what about running the auras (the curse and the consume) along with the ring that pulls uncursed mobs to the cursed one? Does it spread all the curses and pull uncursed mobs in to be cursed? Anyone please help. I had been running the pestilance set with bone spear w/teeth and loved that would like to try new builds.

Rubies will boost your strength, which translates into armor class for an intelligence based class. His point was your already high in intelligence which boosts all resistance, so it would be a good idea to boost a stat your character might be weak in. Personally I still go topaz on most of my gear because intelligence on an intelligence class also boosts damage output.

4 piece bonus divides the damage by 2 and then by 3, for a total reduction of 83.33%, if you add the belt it's a 91.66% damage reduction. Add the shoulders in the cube and we have 93.5%. Is that correct? Well, thats tanky

It certainly seems like it. Inarius is trash though unfortunately, and that's what the haedrigs gift is gonna be. Rathma's is kinda questionable at best, pestilence kinda sucks although it did get buffed, and the rest are LotD reliant

If you look at the gameplay clip in the background, almost never is Zei's stone power used. Wouldn't socket that legendary gem.

I see him consistently trying to hit elites from a distance, often killing them from offscreen.

Since Bone Spear pierces the enemies farther away will get the Effect of Zie's. Also there is no distance required to get the stun proc. And Stuns trigger Krysbins for Tripple damage. Also Zie's never shows up as a buff, it's always active.

Playing my own version of this build now.I can attest that while sometimes i AM in melee range of targets, I'm hitting things off screen very often as well.

I've been out of the game a bit; how does Nayr's look on this build as opposed to Cycle?

You would have 500% damage as opposed to 300%-400% and you wouldn't have to worry about the cd on bone armor. Instead of bone armor you could pick up bone golem to gather density, and you could put golem breaches in kanais cube instead of razeths volition. The golem breaches would give you 20-30 seconds off of the cd on golem, and you'll get 30% damage reduction while the golem is alive. Sounds pretty decent. But keeping up the 5 stacks of nayr's would be a pain. But in the end, you're better off with a 1hand scythe and phyalctery. Unless you have an absolutely godlike nayr's or maltorius' petrified spike. Just an idea 😂

Hi, is there a way to play this or any build without the bone armor skill? I hate how it looks, and it's the only reason I have not played Necromancer. I want to be able to see my character, not some ugly chunky bone man lmao

I am right there with you. I hate the look, but I eventually just had to get used to it. Bone armor is definitely a must have skill for alot of builds.
