Ozai's pose on the poster seems like intentional reference to how Fire Lords are depicted in official art

What I’m hoping they do is Roku tells Ang that he must learn all elements before the comet comes. We don’t know when it will come, but it is coming soon and then in season two they can find out in the library that it will be coming summer of next year which book 3 in the original show already felt like it had a big time jump. It felt like the characters were a lot older.

I think people are overreacting about the comet, I don't mind changes to the story as long as those changes makes sense.
@MsAkatsuki099 ай бұрын
I saw a comment that said people are overreacting about the comet and I agree. The article says that they removed the specific clock from the comet. People seem to be looking for reasons to suffer for no need. Nobody wants that bizarreness that is Stranger Things.

That Zhao poster looks soooo good, wow. Also, people who are freaking out over this is odd to me, unless they’re just being fed misinformed clickbait like “oh the comet is GONE! from live action.” As for the Zuko-Ozai fight scene, I don’t think we’re meant to overly read into the word “fight.” A fight scene can be someone attacking and the other defending, getting burned, not sure how to react, as a son being attacked by his father might. I think “fight” isn’t meant to totally confirm Zuko literally fights his father back. More that it’s an action sequence more than in the OG show.

By the way it's worded on the EW article, I think the reveal will be a full scene or something like "Here's the first 5 minutes of the show". About the Magpie teaser, I don't really play the game so I don't know how it works, but could it be something like a little guide of plants and poisons that can be used in game maybe?
@AirspeedPrime9 ай бұрын
Yeah, a flora or a food/drink guide would be cool as an extra release between expansion books.

The way comets usually work is that they never have an exact date of when they orbit. So maybe throughout season 1 and 2 nobody knows when the comet will return to have it a tense mystery. It’ll be interesting to have the fire nation be the only ones to know and that’s why they go to the fire nation in season 3 to find out the secret (along with Aang learning fire bending).

Really hoping the RPG stuff is an expansion and not just a playthrough with Iroh's voice actor or something. The Zuko/Ozai agni kai is such an iconic and impactful scene in the show. Zuko's begging not to fight; Iroh's narration "I turned away" and just hearing Zuko's scream offscreen. Hard to top that even if it's just a direct adaptation. Changing it to the point where Zuko full on fights Ozai before getting scarred seems ... iffy. Especially because part of the brutality of the scar is that Zuko isn't even fighting but Ozai still chose to burn him in that defenseless state. Plus if they want to show off Ozai more, I think him just standing there all muscley does that well enough lol. I also noticed in that article that they're referring to Hei Bai as "The Hei Bai" and I'm like ... ? What's up with that? Hei Bai is his name. It's not like Koh's subtitle of The Face Stealer. He's not The Koh.

I was concerned about the Sozin's Comet change when I first heard about it, but now I don't think it's really an issue. It probably makes sense tbh, since it would be odd to have the same sense of urgency as in the original show if the comet is likely years away. I don't really know what to make of the comments about the changes to the Avatar State, it could go either way so we'll have to wait and see. The Zuko fight idea is definitely concerning from what was said in the article. I agree that it wouldn't fit if Zuko fights Ozai with full force. I hope it won't be like what those comments are making it out to be and they'll be able to handle it in a way that fits Zuko's character.
@coletakahashi-s9d9 ай бұрын
When they say fight that does necessarily mean a fight in the traditional sense because you can have a fight were one person doesn’t land any punches. For example the fight with Aang and Zhoa.
@psgamer-01999 ай бұрын
The posters are good, they look good. I'm only bothered by the fact that I forgot that's Zhao because I don't think the actor looks or is made to look like the character. Unlike the others where you can obviously tell which characters they are. This Zhao reminds me more of Mai's uncle from the Boiling Rock and the warden from the episode Imprisoned than actually Zhao.
@bubblenugget77979 ай бұрын
I agree that he doesn’t look the same, but I saw some of the actor’s work and he is a really really good actor. I think for a character like Zhoa/Azula, the acting is way more important than how the actor looks. And also the creators said they will be doing more with Zhao’s character than the show did, so this makes the acting even more important.
@coletakahashi-s9d9 ай бұрын

Thoughts on the confirmation that the show is rated TV-14? I was a bit worried that they would keep it PG, but glad TV-14 gives them the flexibility to get darker when they need to.
@AirspeedPrime9 ай бұрын
I am wondering if a lot of that is mainly for them showing the attack on the air temples and how brutal that might be, in terms of characters dying left and right, potentially a very intense death of Gyatso scene. Otherwise I do wonder how much they will lean into having that rating, showing Zuko getting the scar comes to mind, but I do wonder will they make bending fights in general more intense in terms of being willing to make it clear characters are dying.

I’m also still a little worried about what he said about Zuko‘s fight with his father I don’t like that change. It’s a bad change when I’m hoping is what he is meaning is Zuko doesn’t want to fight his father like in the original, but his father forces him to, but then as the fight goes on, his father is getting more angrier, because he’s not putting all his effort in so he decides to burn Zuko faceto teach him a lesson
@IsraelLlerena9 ай бұрын
Yes! I think this would work better. I mean Zuko is always trying to please his father. Maybe Ozai being mad that Zuko isn’t fighting back will make him “fight back” for a little bit but ultimately he surrenders because he really just does not want to fight back. I think that’s the best option. I don’t want a legit fight scene where Zuko is trying to best his father.
@blakelandry93139 ай бұрын
@@IsraelLlerena in the trailer for the sing when you see Zuko blocking his father‘s attack and his trying to move closer to him. I’m hoping that scene is the burn scene pretty much Zuko doesn’t do the final attack instead just tells his father that he doesn’t want to do this and so his father puts his hand on Zuko‘s face tells him OK we cut to iroh face and see a big flash of light and all we hear is Zuko’s screams and cries I think if they do this, then it could be a bigger improvement but this is what I’m hoping they do. I really don’t like how he worded it

I’m all for change when it comes to timeljne or location changes, but I do not like when the character itself Is changed or their intentions are altered. That’s when you start to lose me. I really don’t want Zuko to fight back against ozai during the Agni Kai fight. I feel like that goes against how he feels about his father at the time. Hopefully it’s just Zuko trying to make his father happy by fighting back, but realizes he really just doesn’t want to fight.
@blakelandry93139 ай бұрын
Like my comment before I’m hoping that it’s the same as the thing that he’s just saying and he just didn’t say it in a good way. Well I’m hoping is Zuko only is fighting because his father is forcing him to, but then his father clearly isn’t liking it because he’s not putting effort so he burns Zuko face. That’s at least what I’m hoping what meaning but if not, that’s gonna be really bad change

I don't think there's any problem with him just shielding himself, blocking his face. Try taking a flamethrower to your face without at least putting your hands in front of your face to stop it. I don't think it would be humanly possible.
@IsraelLlerena9 ай бұрын
@@ShizuruNakatsu shielding yourself from a flame vs having a choreographed fight scene are two different things though. They’re making it sound like Zuko is about to try to fight his father at the Agni Kai.

@IsraelLlerena Well yeah, if he actually attacks, that would be weird. That would change the reason Zuko was banished, and probably also have a different effect on Zuko's mentality and motivations.

I hope that when season 2 and 3 are greenlit, they start filming pretty fast, and do both seasons back to back. I don't like the idea of the characters aging more than 1 or 2 years at most. (The actors could age 3 years while the characters age 1 - 2). I just don't want Aang being 15 or 16, or Sokka and Zuko being like 18 or 19 by the end. Hopefully they're still close to the ages they're meant to be. I wish they just committed to making all three seasons from the start, giving the actors just a bit of a break between filming, but still having it all done in the space of a couple of years.
@lila67399 ай бұрын
The actors have already aged 3-4 years. Gordon, who’s 14 at the moment, will be turning 15 later this year. His voice has dropped and he’s the same height as Kiawentiio, probably will be taller than her in a couple of months (which is when they film for book 2 if it is even greenlit). Maybe we can suspend our belief that Aang is still 12 if the actor is 15, but new viewers definitely won’t be able to. Netflix also won’t be releasing that much money for 3 seasons to be shooting back to back (which is kind of impossible for Avatar, given the budget is 15 million per episode).
@ShizuruNakatsu9 ай бұрын
@lila6739 I mean like a 15 year old actor can play a 13 year old, and a 17 year old actor can play a 15 year old. If they start the filming in a couple of months (hopefully), they could still have Aang be 13, possibly 14, at the end of Book 3. I just don't want it to go further than that, with Aang being like 16 and Sokka already being an adult.
@lila67399 ай бұрын
@@ShizuruNakatsu If Gordon continues to grow at this rapid rate, it’ll be pretty hard to believe that he’s 13. But then again, they could always say that it was the staying in the iceberg that rapidly ages him rather than a really long time skip. Personally, I don’t really see an issue with all of them being the same age as their comic counterparts by the third season. They’re more mature in the comics, but they still act like teenagers. If you don’t mind me asking, what are your reasons for not wanting this change?
@idroppler91489 ай бұрын
What I wanted to ask you: Comparing the views the trailer got and the views that the teaser got it appears that the teaser was doing way better? It got like 14 million views in 4 days while the Trailer only got 4,5 in the same time period. Do you think that‘s something that should worry us ?
@AirspeedPrime9 ай бұрын
I don't think we need to be worried, the timings for both trailers are very different, the teaser was a big part of Tudum which had a huge build up for weeks and it was the main event. Vs this trailer which had officially 1 day of build up and those in the know knew it a few days in advance. So I think things are perfectly fine.
