I agree with you, It would make alot of sense that it is a sequel to Super Mario Party because its related to buffet & banquet, even so i hope that they put more new characters, more boards (not only just a small amount of board, but lets say like 7 or 8 new boards would be an awesome addition to Super Mario Party 2, and new minigames as well

Project X Zone 3 is the game. A crossover is like a banquet, with video game franchise as the dishes.

I think this "Banquet" game could be a new title in the Fortune Street franchise. Co-developed between ND Cube and ArtePiazza (square Enix) If there ever were a time to try this experiment again (in terms of Mario and Dragon Quest marketability), it would be now! (or rather, shortly after the HD-2D DQ3 remake releases)

I didn’t know about Engage’s code name skipping a number! Since the numbers Nintendo use are different to the fanbase’s anyway I get very muddled

Huh, this was interesting to learn. Is there a list of all the known codenames for Nintendo games because I'm wondering what some other series conventions are.

We don't know every single one. For example, anything before the Wii we know less of. But I think we know most of the consistent 'key' franchises from them. Like Pikmin which uses Fruit and Veg. Pikmin 1 & 2 on Switch are PumpkinS1 & S2,, Pikmin 3 is Carrot and Pikmin 4 is Carrot4. Hey! Pikmin is Raddish and Bloom is ichigo (strawberry).

I always felt like Mario Party Superstars was a way for the team to kind of get a feel for what people liked about the original games and what they could bring over for their next original title. I've figured their next Mario Party title would be Super Mario Party 2 ever since Superstars came out. Perhaps they're planning on alternating between those two "sub-series", assuming ratings and sales keep up. Even if that's not the game this leak is referring to (which I 100% think it is), I would still bet good money on Super Mario Party 2 happening within the next year.

I don’t think they’d bounce between the two as a sub-series. There’s not enough games (when doing 3 or so at a time) to continue that long. And I don’t think they’d title a game “Mario Party 11” because then the numbers probably turn people off. So “Super” allows them to continue the games without sounding as repetitive. My hope is they mix in what people like of the originals into this reboot (in name or mechanics) series. Also, I don’t think many people are as nostalgic for the GC/Wii Mario Party’s to be worth it. Just make one MP game, and having some other type of game as well.

Not strictly related to the video topic but Forgotten Land is the 15th mainline Kirby, but wiki (both wikipedia and Kirby wikis) only list 13. What are the other 2? Is it like FE where remakes like Nightmare in Dream Land and Super Star Ultra get their own numbers?

It's exactly that. I'm not sure if Return to Dream Land DX counts as Kirby16 or not though. We'll have to see when the next original Kirby game drops.

Probably just copium but I would love if it was Smash. Banquet could relate to a large meeting of people from different places for a large event so maybe it could relate back to a crossover. But honestly your idea of Mario Party makes more sense.

I didn't mention it in the video but the codename for the Super Smash Bros. series under Bandai Namco is 'Cross'. So CrossC for 3DS, CrossF for Wii U and Cross2 for Ultimate. I would imagine the next Smash Bros. game will be Cross3.

i kinda don't care this casual games like party games and stuff, i'd rather prefer the more epic games like f-zero, zelda, xenoblade, 3d Mario on odyssey and 64 style, etc. Hope it is the sucessor to kirby forgotten land which i liked!
