Like that this one focuses more on the gameplay design choices rather than the common fan lore. Watched the whole video.

The superior "Old Man" for Smash is Kaboragabora 🦉

Nah, I feel like, of the two Rauru's, Kaepora would be the least likely to get into Smash.

The Old Man from Pokémon RBY would fit your criteria here, it's my head canon now he's a Hyrulian.

This video was amazing! The only note I have is that I feel like there are at least 2 different old men in Zelda 1. The old men in dungeons have slightly different beards and robes, as well as significantly more noticeable ears than the ones in caves, suggesting they are different individuals.

Inconclusive that it's different characters in the OG Zelda? Have you never played 8 bit games? 😹😹😹 they couldn't load that many resources. They used so many tricks, but there's only so much you can do when you don't have the luxury of GBs of data. Even a few extra MBs would've helped, but the early games didn't have the tricks or chips that the later games had.
