I totally disagree with you on the release. If they show off the system in March, there is no way in hell they would wait until the holiday season to release it. No company would wait that long after an announcement.

Nor would they warehouse finished unit that's long. Shipping data seems to be strong indication its already being built, and they don't need to build them for 13-14 months before release. There's a rumor of wanting 6-8 million units at launch, and Nintendo's production partners can reach that in about 6-7 months assuming a similar ramp up to Switch 1 (placing this number in the March-May timeframe.) Give them 13-14 months and they should have about 20 million units. That's too many - it requires a lot of warehousing to store that many units for months on end. Financially speaking, the optimal plan is to release just before ramp up completes, so that once fully ramped up the two million or so units a month they'll produce (along with a few hundred thosuand Switch 1s) can pretty much roll right off the line and be sent to retailers without having to absorb any additional warehousing costs. Also, they aren't releasing Switch 2 exclusives before the unit and a holiday release window only gives a month or two long window for exclusive releases, for which Nintendo and third-parties would all be fighting over the same piece of pie. 20 million units with only handful of exclusives makes for a harder sell, even if its backwards compatible. Having more months available to produce a more varied arrangement of well-publicized exclusive games helps boost the sales of both the system and other, less-publicized or non-exclusive games as well.

Reveal to release dates have just been getting shorter and shorter for them over the years, a majority of their games are coming out less than half a year after the reveal when they used to reveal most games almost a year in advance. I doubt they’ll make us wait longer for the switch 2 after reveal than the first switch especially since they announced they were revealing it almost a year ago now

We have already had leaks about warehouses being stocked with the Switch 2, there is a possibility that it could still release in Spring, it just depends on the shipping, which, most likely, won't take too long. There is a high chance of it being in March as it's much closer to the reveal, preventing any other leaks that could occur about it's future software and game library. I have a feeling Nintendo wouldn't want to have any more delays, mainly due to the fact that the accessories will be estimated to ship in Spring aswell.

They aren't revealing it April, then sitting on hands for several months before releasing system and next games. Its a transition, not a cutover. There will be more Switch 1 games after March, for which Pokemon Z-A Legends and Metroid Prime 4 are already known first party titles, and several third party titles have later dates, like Hundred Line in April, Inazuma Eleven in June, and Decapolice all the way out in 2026. Nintendo is going to continue to cater to Switch 1 owners for a while after Switch 2 is out, just as they kept producing 3DS games up through 2019 (Kirby's Epic Yarn) despite shifting over to a primarily Switch-focus.
