Switch's built-in internet browser used for the eShop, the NSO app, and image sharing (and Wi-Fi login for some networs) was super ancient. Switch 2 will have a much newer browser, so it'll run much faster by default.

It's not a native app, it's a website running through the browser, and Switch's OS only reserve a tiny bit of RAM for the browser

It's pretty straightforward, it loads the ENTIRE page into the RAM on the shitty Switch Browser. The Switch has 4GB and 1GB is usable by the browser, so when you're on a page that's displaying 9,000 tiles, it's just massively overwhelming to the hardware.

I hope the chips they used doesn't actually turn out to be from Samsung Foundry, they are well known to have thermal issues even in their Samsung Galaxy lineups, as well as them making Tensor chips for Google phones, which also have terrible performance. They made the Exynos chips for mobile devices and they were always inferior in terms of efficiency, thermals, and performance wise to Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips. Not to mention the fact that when they made Snapdragon chips, (the 888 and 8 Gen 1) performance was garbage and couldn't sustain its performance at all since they kept throttling

If the Switch 2 has Nvidia silicone then I wonder if we see Nvidia announce more than just their flagship 5090 GPU. I think more information about their new partnership with Nintendo is going to happen this month at CES, and its only a few days away. Sure would be the perfect timing for Nintendo to reveal the Switch 2 with Nvidia by their side... Nvidia's main showcase this month is of course going to be all about their flagship 5090 Series PC GPU, and while it may sound a bit odd to talk about a PC GPU as well as a Nintendo Switch 2, I'll remind you again, as of course everyone knows right now that the Switch 2 has Nvidia silicone technology. This may sound crazy, but it would be an absolute banger of a show for Nvidia to talk about the 5090 PC GPU, and then once it's been all talked about, they pull an Apple by saying we have one more special thing we have for everyone today, then BAM, A Nintendo direct video pops up and we get the whole video presentation about the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as talking points about why Nintendo decided to partner with Nvidia, by showing off the awesome new tech Nvidia silicone is helping provide to the Switch 2, and people are going to go absolute bonkers. Not bonkers in a bad way, but in an incredible way! PC gamers may not be interested in the Switch 2, but because of how loyal PC gamers are to the Nvidia brand via upscaling tech that is the best in the business, I think PC gamers will be undeniably respectful to seeing Nvidia's tech in action on the new Nintendo Switch 2 platform. If Nvidia and Nintendo are deciding whether or not to do this together at the same time, or do this separate due to possible fear of backlash, I would highly suggest these partners bite the bullet and just do this together at CES. I think this would be a massive win for both parties. PC gamers are nerds too, and who knows, it could bring some PC gamers to become actually interested in the Nintendo Switch 2. This could be a total slam dunk of a showcase. CES is the largest consumer electronics expo in the world and it would be the best time for both Nvidia & Nintendo, because everyone would be covering this new around the world. Think about it this way... Nvidia wants to make money on every single Switch 2 console with their proprietary Switch 2 Nvidia GPU, and when it comes to Nintendo, they want to show off games utilizing Nvidia's new tech, as well as of course wanting to also make money selling their everything else that makes up the Switch 2 console. Both are in this together closer than I think most think. Look, I'm going to be honest here, and say that I would agree that this prediction does sound like the dumbest possible assumption, and that I'm going looney toons right now, but I'm pulling the trigger on this one, and I truly believe we will see Nintendo's Switch 2 announcement at CES. It's 100% going to happen. Well, Nintendo has been so tight lipped for so damn long. Some of the first Switch rumors were near the end of 2023 with some speculation for a Q1-Q2 2024 prediction. Nope it didn't happen. What we did hear very early in the first months of 2024 were rumors of Nvidia DLSS in the new Switch. Cool, but nobody really cared. A few months later and September to Holiday 2024 predictions for the Switch 2 was made. Again, it didn't happen. Due to possible delays based on Nintendo needing games for the launch, and now it was looking like a very far away 2025 reality we had to deal with and wait. A few interesting leaks very early and some in mid 2024, but that's all they were, just stupid leaks. Then within the last few months of 2024, especially the leaks within the last few weeks to days of 2024's end was when leaks went to confirmed territory! Gamers now know what the Switch 2 is pretty much going to look like, even if it's still unfortunately in pieces. Based off of the recent parts and talented artist mockups, they look looks dead-on to the final product. Finally, we have hit 2025 and the 2025 Switch 2 launch is now damn near immanent. This years unusual Nvidia product launch schedule is not normal. It's SUS! I think the wait throughout 2024 may have been all planned out this entire time between Nvidia and Nintendo who wanted to surprise the world together. Guys, Nvidia's is kicking off CES with their own Keynote on January 6th. Why is that strange? Well, CES only starts opening their doors on January 7th, but somehow Nvidia for some strange reason gets to announce their product 1 day before everyone at CES. This is kinda sus to me. Remember, the last time Nvidia announced their flagship 4090 Series GPU, it was held at The GPU Technology Conference (GTC) on September 20th 2022. Now, it's 2025 and Nvidia gets the honor to speak first at CES about their flagship 5090 Series GPU only? Again, 1 day before CES even starts on the 7th of January? This smells far too fishy to me to not think somethings up. There is obviously something else very big coming. Nvidia's keynote is 3 Days away and if we do not hear a peep about the Nintendo Switch 2, which has Nvidia's new Switch 2 GPU, then I am fully prepared to get slammed by everyone if I am in fact wrong. The thing is, I don't think I'm wrong on this one. What we are going to see in 3 Days, on January 6th at 4:30 is Nvidia's CES Keynote which will be all things GPU, talking about their new flagship 5090 GPU announcement. The catch? Nvidia later the same day only a few hours after, they oddly have their second scheduled announcement which is going to be held at 6:30PT/9:30ET. After they end wrapping up the 5090 details, which will be around 6:30PT/9:30ET is when I believe Nvidia is going to give us that oh so exciting, "We have one special surprise announcement up our sleeve, and it's a GPU, but not a PC GPU", the lights dim, and finally we get the Nintendo Direct we've been waiting for. The Nintendo Switch 2 is finally unveiled with the price and launch date. Heck, Nintendo might even do a live demonstration on stage next to the Nvidia CEO and team explaining a bit more in detail about how this is going to run using their new proprietary based silicone designed for the Switch 2. Who better to talk about the upscaling tech than Nvidia? Nintendo understands the tech, but Nvidia built it and can explain all about the tech much better right there on stage. Maybe I'm right, or maybe I'm dead wrong. We will just have to wait and see. If you didn't read all of this, well I don't blame you. It's TLDR as hell and probably nonsense. I'm just so very excited to see the Nintendo Switch 2! It's been too goddamn long now... The pictures and specs are out. People are freaking out. I'm obviously freaking out as you can tell. I'm hoping Kingdom Hearts 4 gets announced for switch 2. If the Switch is as powerful or at least close to as powerful as a Xbox Series S with the help of DLSS then there is no excuse for switch 2 to not get ports anymore. Every game that comes out on Xbox Series X needs to come to Series S as well day one. And the Series S is just a glorified Xbox One X/PS4 pro with a SSD taped to it.

The Switch 2 will probably be revealed on January 8th 2025. Rumours say the console will have a 9 in the launch title and that could be Mario Kart 9. It could launch with 32 tracks and no crossover characters and get DLC packs, adding crossover characters and double up the tracks to 48. It’s weird that the Blue Falcon is in the series but Captain Falcon isn’t. So why don’t they come in form of the DLC? I want them to ditch the metal characters, Cat Peach, Tanooki Mario, Peachette, the Blooper Item and Coin Item, make the Koopalings alts for Bowser Jr., the baby characters alt’s for each other, Dry Bowser an alt for Bowser, bring the Fake Item Box, Mega Mushroom, Pow Block, Super Leaf and the Ice Flower back, add commentary as the Arcade GP series has it, bring Mission Mode back as it was supposed to return in Wii and add Professor E. Gadd since he was going to be in DS, and by October, we could get Super Mario Journey. By March 2026, we could get a new 3D Kirby game, possibly a sequel to Forgotten Land. We could get to see playable Elfilin and Clawroline for the first time and they could bring back the Dream Palace Allies as well. Halfway through 2026, we could get Splatoon 4 and Pikmin 5, considering a 3 year gap between Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Pikmin 4, by September, we could get a new Zelda game, considering a 2 year gap between Breath of the Wild, Link’s Awakening remake and Skyward Sword HD, and by the end of the year, we could get Super Smash Bros. Legends and hopefully they’ll ditch World of Light, bring Subspace Emissary back and update the movesets of some characters. We could get Super Mario Maker 3, Luigi’s Mansion 4, Super Mario Galaxy 3 and a successor to Super Mario Party Jamboree by 2027 as it’s been 5 years since we had Super Mario Maker 2 and Luigi’s Mansion 3. They could add a Mario Wonder game style to Super Mario Maker 3 so 3D World isn’t just the extra game style and they could bring the Amiibo costumes and the Weird Mushroom back, for Luigi’s Mansion 4, the game could be in an Airbnb and we might get to see Luigi save Daisy for the first time in the series and for the successor to Jamboree, everyone from the previous Mario Party entries could return like how everyone returned for Smash Ultimate. By 2028, we could get a new Paper Mario game, considering a 4 year gap between The Origami King and the TTYD remake. I hope the console sells well and has 4K and 60 FPS. I probably won’t get it day one, or maybe not at all. I might wait for Smash Legends to be announced and then get the console with Mario Kart and get other games later on.

I'm expecting Switch 2 to use 9GB of RAM for games & 3GB for the OS. That alone makes it run better than PS4 Pro as it had only 8GB & the OS used 2GB there. No game will render higher than 1080p natively & the AI upscaler will be to upscale handheld games from 720p native to 1080p & 720p/1080p native to 4K.
