I went to school there from 83 to 87 lived in the pilbara in a town with no high school.

Loved the video, it has a real Leyland Brothers feel to it :) Strangely enough we have just been up there and I finally did the tour. Been through there many times but never stopped long enough to see it properly before. Now that the highway bypass is done, it is so much more peaceful. The bread they make there is awesome. Sadly there is a very dark side to this place with the Royal Commission into Child Abuse finding that (historically) the number of monks involved in the abuse of children was three times higher here than the average at other institutions. I will be interested to see part two with the former student's views. I have spoken to former students from the Tardun Ag school and there are two very different periods. The earlier students hate the place and wish it could be blown up while the later students loved it.

Thats not the first time someone has said the leyland brothers. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. Ive done many tours and recently there is a monk been running them. He is really good and can give you more of an insight into the place. I'm aware of the dark side of the town but have no intention to talk about that side. Its not what the video is about. Next weeks video is from a more recent student after those days. I'm glad you stopped finally and did the tour. Most people say that it wasnt what they thought it would be. I think the new highway although requested by the monks will contribute to the demise of the town. Thanks for watching

Juan Pedro Bancell was a relative of mine , he's buried in Wagerup where my paternal grandmother was born & the Eastcott family has their own grave site
