Half of Drake’s ‘Take Care’ album (which is considered his classic album) was written by The Weeknd. Drake took several songs from Weeknd’s ‘House of Balloons’ album to be on ‘Take Care’. So the line Kendrick says “You don’t have one, Let your core audience stomach that, then tell ’em where you get your abs from” meaning even your “classic” album is fake and rides the success of other artists.

The word “Brodie” turns to “crodie” when crippin, west coast shit. A popular Canadian rapper took crodie and made it a popular Canadian slang. Kenny is saying him being from Compton, Canadians borrowing shit that they can’t be, going back to the previous bar. Side note, that New Ho resturant is popular in Canada, which happens to be the resturant Drake got robbed in in 2009, and the “dip with a blammey” line is a double entendre, eating Chinese dip with a blammey, while a robber “dipped” with a “blammey” a gun. Drake cooperated with the police, making him a rat (Ben), with a previous Mike Jackson record, being a rat, snitch, making gunna look like a saint. So many layers. Catch up

That “pushing P” line is cold because Drake took a shot at Dot on a song with 21 saying he’s “pushing p” while Dot is pushing “PTSD”. Y’all are missing the Joel Osmeen/ Osteen entendre. Some people claim Joel Osteen uses holograms like he did at Coachella. Also a woman shoot up Joel’s Lakewood church because she claim something in her head told her to do. “My sixth sense telling me to off him” He plays with inflections a lot in this song like “what is it the braids/ breaks” The Breaks is a movie about a white guy who was adopted and lived in Compton and cosplayed until the police came. The sample in the beginning of Teddy P. who got into a car accident with a transsexual woman and resulted to him being in a wheelchair (Wheelchair Jimmy/ DeGrassi) then Lamar calls back to in “we hate the women you fuck with…” It’s nasty work

I love the song. I think the line about "real women" is referring to drake fucking with teens. As a mixed race person I really haven't felt Push, Rick Ross, or Kendrick's policing of race entirely. I understand that Drake is fake, but if you're black you're black. That aspect can be addressed with more nuance. But in total, Drake got bodied and whatever he does, he doesn't have the skill to respond. This "I'm a pop star and I'm above you" shit is tired. Also, the pray for my city line is about Drake doing an anti-gun violence add for Toronto and then rapping his fake hard shit.

Exactly and people need to understand real hip hop to comprehend the reasoning behind Kendrick’s disdain and disrespect for everything Aubrey/Drake represents. Drake’s music/image …it’s negativity. Re Toronto, we have gang and gun violence and depending on your neighborhood it's pretty bad (like passersby getting shot, Moms keeping kids inside, etc.). Those are not neighborhoods Drake grew up in mostly in his grandparent's house in an affluent neighborhood. He now lives in the most exclusive and expensive neighborhood we've got. The narrative is that the guns come for the US (which makes sense based on the lack of checks for them coming through the land border crossings).

That dementia line was directed at J prince and Drakes relevance to wanting to be like Jazz Prince Jr cause ya know he’s also signed to Prince Sr.’ Label. Albeit to the public, we still don’t know if Prince’s past horror stories are true, so we must’ve forgotten about it over time- thus, dementia. Parkinson’s bar was probably a shot at drakes boy who has it I believe 🤷🏾

“Everyone wanna be demon until they get chipped by a throwaway” I personally feel like this is a drake and 21 savage collaboration shot. Now hear me out…. First things first, Demun is actually futures REAL middle name. Drake and future have collaborated LOADS and have a whole project together. In fact I’m pretty sure behind Wayne, future was, if still not is the second artist that Drake has collaborated with the most. Drake was meant to have done another project with future but turned him down to work with 21 instead making him the second artist outside of the young money group project he did to have a project with Drake. 21 had also wanted to do a collaboration with Drake YEARS before they actually made one but didn’t want him thinking he was just trying to use their “friendship” to get one. Just like how Drake turned down future, Kendrick to me is basically saying “yeah you might have wanted to be future and have your little collab project together but your gonna get chipped and thrown away just like future did”. 21 or his manager also said time ago that his Drake features were FREE. So if he basically did the album for free and Drake released it through OVO then DRAKe ATE off that album without really even giving 21 anything. So he could also be saying that 21 got chipped over their throwaway album. That’s just me through. Feel free to say if you agree or if you don’t but I seriously do think that line is about that collab.

Crodie is Candian slang for Brodie or Bro. The Joel Osteen reference cut deep. Osteen runs a mega church and washes money through it, a member of his staff had been caught doing funny stuff with kids, and the man has had a ton of plastic surgery. Osteen claims to be a man of God, but is anything but a moral person. The Joel Osteen comparison references Drake's plastic surgeries, the videos and pics of Drake having inappropriate relationships with underage girls, and Drake always flaunting his Jewish heritage bar mitzvah'd, but lacks any sort of moral compass. The V12 reference also is a reference to a cryolipidosis machine used in plastic surgery to sculpt abs and BBLs. Kendrick says, "Joel Hale Osteen," which is a play of Haley Joel Osment who was in The 6th Sense and famously said, "I see dead people." We didn't know it at the time, but this was a foreshadow of what Kendrick had in the chamber with the opening line of "Not Like Us." The line about "back to back" also foreshadows his plan to drop back to back shots with "Meet the Grahams" and "Not Like Us," which, let's face it, eviscerated Drake. Lastly, the bell tolling in the backing track is the funeral bell toll. Kendrick is so clever and calculating it will melt your face.

You know what’s crazy. On the part where he keeps saying “you don’t know nun bout that”…the way he’s pronouncing “that” almost sounds like he’s saying “Dot”..he was telling Drake you don’t know about these things..because you ain’t a real man..he’s also saying “you don’t know shit about me”..eluding back to the “fabricating stories on the family front” line..he’s also mimicking Adonis’s flow that he had on his song “My Man” 😂😂
