Bernard has an amazing voice, and is a better guitarist than one would think watching him play. He and Gillian create incredible and totally unique spiritual riffs. I went to the UK looking for this sound and couldn't find it. There was only one. I think Gillian may be a genius. Her riffs are as sublime as classical music.

My bestie Mariana committed suicide a few weeks later due to sexual abuse and unwanted pregnancy. So tbh I’m not sure how I survived. I wasn’t able to attend her funeral. Her parents didn’t tell anyone.

“Age of consent” has a similarity to “Transmission”. This song is a kind of continuation of what they did as Joy Division but is major key. Notice that Bernard’s melodies in “Transmission” are now distributed to vox and synth They were actually poise to be the ultimate nonsynth “synth” band ever, Morris’ drumming and Hookie’s basslines set perfect to synth.

Just saw them at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach 2 weeks ago.They were absolutely killer! They had the best light and video show to go along with thier great music.they also played a bunch of Joy Division songs too with Ian Curtiss on the video screen! Brilliant show!
