@@jadeonethey did kind of rip off this style. Simon Gallup copped the style exactly using chorus pedal on his bass and high notes. Albeit less imaginative. The repeating 2 chords for the entire song, the interludes with a little more guitar like when Robert isn’t singing. Obviously not all of the Cure’s songs are based on this but some of their most known are.
