The first 3 minutes is Treme, last two minutes is St. Roch, and the rest is the 7th. The western part of the 7th Ward (west of St. Bernard Ave) has been gentrifying the past two years while the eastern half is still rough and seems to have gotten worse during the pandemic.

The majority of the houses looked remodeled and nice, however the streets and sidewalks are still pretty torn up from the floods. The litter on the streets needs to be picked up too otherwise the Ward looks pretty decent. I love the architecture!

Yes New Orleans is culturally Caribbean. Even though it's geographicaly located in the south, New Orleans wasn't always part of the USA. That's why the culture is different. Most of these homes especially in the 7th Ward was built by the French Creoles and Afro Creoles.

Good shit, if you would've kept going down Claiborne and bust that left on St. Bernard Ave. That would've been my old hood. St Bernard and rocheblave, couldn't go down the Ave without seeing all of us on my steps across from snapper lawn mower shop. I miss the old news Orleans, won't ever get her back nor the people we lost.

Believe it or not this neighborhood is a lot nicer than it used to be. I saw lots of fresh paint well kept yards...no projects..and the most noticable thing is the lack of people. 25 years ago those streets were full of people.. mostly gangs. Way more dangerous.

At 7:34 of the video, that looks like the area of Treme. When I went to New Orleans 3 years ago, I stayed in an air bnb in treme and I remember that bridge at 7:34. Should be esplanade Ave.

That's Claiborne Ave. Esplanade Ave is a couple blocks past where he was driving. West of Esplanade is Treme while east is the Seventh Ward (where he's driving). The building with the murals where he's turning at 7:43 is Kermit Ruffin's Mother-in-Law Lounge.
