OK bet, here’s my take. Both bands really were about even if you ask me. Of course what’s going to give the edge to either band is preferences. MMB: was better musically as far as arrangements and technicality. NOASB: most def was in yo face every arrangement. If you preferred the power, of course you’d choose NOASB. I personally liked the more musical based MMB, but I enjoyed both. Neither band was trash. Very entertaining mistakes and all.

New Orleans won. Clarity and balance alone separates the two groups. Memphis had some moments and trombones carried on like every song lol. Can't overlook tuning, especially on a ballad like Say Yes. Musicality matters. Looking forward to future matchups and the groups that improve over the weeks and bring new stuff to each battle.

I expected it from NOASB since they're playing GAMB next. Nonetheless, I gave NOASB the slight edge because MMB was messing up. But it was a very close battle.

Listen, I’m a former Memphis Alumini/Allstar member so I carry a bit of bias towards the home team - but gah damnit bwoy! This was an amazing battle. Memphis DEF had to work hard because them Nola boys came with that heat! Much improved than last year from both sides.

On a first listen full run through I got Nola. 7-3 or 6-4. Notable songs I liked from each (to me the best from the night) that DDG song NOASB played and We Dont Trust You from Memphis. You can tell the bands liked them and so did the crowd

Ok so I came to this clip really thinking Memphis was embarrassed based on Uncutt and it’s completely the opposite. Memphis has a way more cohesive than NOASB. 1 NO (Memphis lost this for themselves) 2 M (Damn good arrangement the color) 3 M (easy that upper brass fanfare) 4 M (best song of the night ) 5 T 6 M (new rules was way cleaner) 7 N ( why play t-shirt very mid) 8 M (Excellent arrangement) 9 N 10 M (wasn’t that a New Orleans dead’s) 6-4 Memphis. Now let’s call a spade a spade. Trumpets for both group was destroying the context for both group. However it’s easily a clear Win for the Memphis Mass Better Arrangements Cleaner sound And over all you can hear the clarity of Memphis music more consistently. Song of the Night SAY YES. That’s was extremely well orchestrated. Great job both Groups. MMB still number 1.

The "BALL" without football is what keeps us going! Still love these events between competing bands to prove who's SWAC is better. Great to see that the traffic of people is maintained to a great rate LVL where things are controlled for both cities to enjoy and the viewers. Other than that they did sound much more mature. NolA wasn't bad at all but two or three arrangements should've just been left at home. Memphis music selection was a tab bit better. You had Nola people in the stands like ( on know this hard ) so that tells you they heard some good music from Memphis as well brother

Ive always been a fan of N.O. They have mostly been the Mecca of Bands throughout band history but MMB took the W. Arrangements, sound, and overall cohesiveness was just better. They sound more well rrehearsed. Loved both bands tho! Band Life is alive and prospering! As bandheads we are blessed to have our way of life evolving like it is!
