Thank you once again for your interest in this video. What are your thoughts about this interesting era in Saints football history? Furthermore, during this video, I said the word "New Orleans" multiple times. I have always heard growing up and did research that the correct pronunciation of "New Orleans" is - New Orlins - . I hope this is correct as I don't want to disrespect the people of the Big Easy as your city seems so interesting and amazing. However, I think I did pronounce "New Orleans" in the correct manner an overwhelmingly majority amount of times, but after listening to the video after completion, I did catch myself pronouncing "New Orleans" as - New Orleens - 2 times. My mistake as I wanted to make sure I pronounced the city correctly.

Hi I just subscribed and I’m loving the nostalgia from the time period when i first began to fall in love with Football. Could you do a series on the final 4 teams of every season, while giving more dedication towards the Super Bowl winners. Or a video about the NFL dynasty’s of the 90’s ? The cowboys def crowned a dynasty. The Bills the uncrowned dynasty. My Denver Broncos closing out the Decade with back to back SB.

You forgot to mention that Billy Joe Hobert forgot to read the playbook!! 🤪🤪

People remember Mora for his rants but he did a good job turning the Aints around, especially in a division with SF in the 80s and 90s
@90sSportsNostalgia Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching the video. That's the thing, he did a great job in the NFC West despite being in the same division with the SF 49ers when they were dominant during that period.

Saints LBs were killer in the early to mid 90s
@90sSportsNostalgia Жыл бұрын
Blake, thank you so much for being a subscriber. I just want to say, I have gradually lost interest of what the Pro Bowl consists of anymore, but I'm sure, we will never see 4 LBs from the same team make the Pro Bowl; even with recent standards, where the Pro Bowl is played before the Super Bowl (thus Super Bowl teams need their Pro Bowlers to be replaced) and more PB players being replaced to due players' injuries or PB players not wanting to play. But those LBs, as you said, "were killer" back then which is something that is so true. Thanks for watching the video.

Sam Mills was amazing. Aaron Brooks and Duce McAllister in the early 2000s

Thanks Jon for the comment. Sam Mills was a tremendous player and from many accounts, a tremendous person. I really like Sam, I really liked all 4 members of the Dome Patrol. Coming soon, a video on the 2000 and 2001 Saints. They were mean, nasty and talented. Thank you so much for the comment and thanks for watching the video.

Hello. As a bears fan there is one memory of the Ditka Saints that will always stick out for me. I was 16 and my bears were down 10-0 hosting the Saints in 1999. In the final two minutes Shane Matthews threw two TDS to Curtis Conway to win. Ditka slammed his headset in rage. Also, I immediately went and bought a Saints Ricky Williams jersey in the summer of 99.
@90sSportsNostalgia Жыл бұрын
Awesome comment. I enjoyed reading it. I remember that well (Ditka throwing his headset) as I had a good laugh. I hope you still have that Williams jersey. Those Saints black and gold jerseys are so nice. I'm a Gators fans so I was happy with that Shane Matthew comeback. But that 1999 game was something else. I probably should have mentioned it. Thanks again, and enjoy the upcoming NFL Draft. It will be interesting for Bears fans.

But come this March and April, where I'll have more time, I will catch up on my Coach Phil videos. Also, I'm so happy for you in terms of your channel's growth. You are so close to being monetized. Having a quarterback with a Cajun name like Hebert in New Orleans was really great PR. I really enjoyed those Hebert era Saints despite Moras annoyingly conservative offense. I only wish the great Eric Martin were mentioned here. One of the most underrated receivers of that era and might have been an hof candidate in a more vertical offense. Ditka and R.Williams deserved each other. Both were prima donnas. Ditka was never the great coach his most ardent fans wished he was. After Buddy Ryan left Chicago the bears became quite beatable and Ditka did an atrocious job handling the qb situation. My Redskins always seemed to beat them, both in the playoffs and regular season. Having known Ditka in a personal and professional capacity living Chicago I can tell you he’s very different from his public persona and I disliked him intensely. A shockingly infantile man with a very inflated sense of his own majesty.

Thanks for the comment. I enjoyed reading it. You are 100% correct that I should have mentioned Eric Martin. I'm going to make a 2000-2001 Saints video and I will definitely talk about Eric Martin. Very interesting what you said about you knowing Ditka. Ditka from my point of view, seemed like such a sideshow from his last years with Chicago and then especially in New Orleans. Thank you so much for the comment and thanks for watching the video.

New Orleans saints from the 2000s Aaron Brooks is an underrated 2000-2004 New Orleans Saints should more playoffs in early 00s and this was before Drew Brees Era in New Orleans Saints from 2006-2021 the 2006/2007 New Orleans Saints should have beat the Bears and play the Colts and probably would have super bowl won the Saints because hurricane Katrina many NFL fans with roofing for Saints and New Orleans Saints and the state of Louisiana, I know New Orleans Saints won the Superbowl in 2009, but the 2006 New Orleans Saints and my opinion was one of the best teams in New Orleans Saints history and saved the New Orleans Saints franchise .
@anthony_rivera4735 Жыл бұрын
Sure the 2006 Saints had a miracle season going from being the worst team in the entire NFC in 2005 to 10-6 winning the NFC south in 2006, but I feel that they just overachieved in 2006, they survived the Eagles in the divisional game then their season finally ended in a blowout in Chicago. Even if the saints won their first pennant three years earlier, I can't see them beating the Colts. I honestly think the Panthers or Falcons should've won the NFC south in 2006 but the Panthers were too damn inconsistent from 2004-2009, they made the playoffs three times during that span winning the NFC south in 2003 and 2008 and the falcons were on a slow decline after winning the NFC south in 2004 right before losing in the NFC championship game in 2005 and had late season errors in the 2005 and 2006 regular seasons.

Thank you so much for the comment. Coming soon, a video on the 2000 and 2001 Saints coming from a Rams fan perspective, because I really want to talk about the Aaron Brooks days. The Saints in 2000 and 2001 had a nasty and mean team in the trenches. I really liked Aaron Brooks. Thanks again.

In 1995 the Saints started 0-5 and 1-6 and had a second half comeback finishing 7-9. The Saints were a huge error between 1996-1999
@90sSportsNostalgia Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the comment. Thanks for mentioning that info as I did not state that in the video. I think I was trying to hurry up and get to the Ditka era, but from 1996-99, it was an era that Saints fans probably didn't like too much as you said "a huge error". Thanks again.

Thanks for watching the video. With all due respect, sorry for the correction, but the Saints and the Bears played in the Wild Card Round in 1991 (1990 NFL season) and I'm pretty sure I mentioned that. If I didn't, I apologize as I was more focused on talking about the 1991 postseason loss to the Falcons. Thanks for your time watching the video.

Why would Head Coach Mike Ditka give up all of the draft pick selections to select one football player in the running back position Ricky Williams? This was a bad decision he made. If i were a head coach and working with management to develop a plan during a draft selection event, I would coordinate on selecting the right professional athletes and put up team together along with other assistant coaches and trainers and coordinators to make a winning team tradition to represent a city or state.

When you look back on everything up until now, it’s kind of saddening. 2 Super Bowls stolen, ditka was the worst coach ever for us, so many pitiful facts and not enough wins to cover it up.
