The cowboy's name used to be Jesse McCree, he was named after a guy who worked at Blizzard that was exposed for being a creep last year, so they renamed his character to Cole Cassidy, or just Cassidy for short. Also, the robot lady he saves is Echo! She was the last character released for the game before they started working on Overwatch 2 back in 2020.

Kiriko’s mother taught the two sons of Sojiro Shimada everything they know about using a sword. As Kiriko’s mother taught Hanzo and Genji, Kiriko tagged along to their lessons and also learned how to fight herself.

3:10 that’s reaper, and this is pretty much why he can become smoke 4:11 I mentioned Blackwatch in a comment in the previous episode. This is a mission Blackwatch was supposed to do. Though they were supposed to capture him not kill him. 22:54 his name *was* Jesse McCree. He was named after a staff member, but his name was changed to Cole Cassidy when that person turned out to be a rapist. 25:04 I don’t think Cassidy & Ashe have a romantic relationship. Ashe just meant family as in a close-knit friend group when she mentioned making your own family. They were both members of the Deadlock Gang, a criminal group, though Cassidy left 25:28 B.O.B. is Ashe’s ultimate 25:45 a little bit of context for this one, Baptiste joined Talon, but later realized it wasn’t right and left

1:01:43 Kiriko has a Kitsune fox spirit attached to her, granting her these powers like her grandmother. In Japanese lore, Kitsune love sweets, hence the diet of donuts. Her mother's comment was pointed at the fox spirit that's protecting Kiriko. The red donuts are 100% sweet red bean paste btw, a favorite in Japan and a favorite of Kitsune. Also in Japanese lore it was common for Kitsune to shapeshift into humans and take human husbands and have families. They're tricksters by nature, but will aide and benefit the good hearted and punish those who cross them.

Sigma's story is quite confusing but basically he faced a black hole and it failed causing him to have 4 minds in one and he goes crazy. when he says "what is that melody?" he means there is a random melody playing over and over again causing him great agony as he doesnt know where its from and it drives him even more mad because he cant stop hearing it

2 of the 3 new characters, Sojourn and Junker Queen, are available for everybody, while Kiriko is only free for returning Overwatch 1 players. If you're a new player, you've either got to unlock her at level 55 of the battle pass, or instantly unlock her once you buy the premium battle pass.

Hey don, just wanted to let you know that you didn't watch all of the origin stories for each character. They're really great at giving you a good backstory for every character and I highly recommend checking them all out. One of my favorites definetely was solider 76's simply because of how he tragically lost his reputation of a great hero but not he hides his identity with his new suit (the one you saw in the animated short, hero.) as the whole world believes he died from the bombing of overwatch's headquarters. The in-game cinematics were part of a few event Co-op missions. You've seen one in the last video (Uprising), and two in this (Retribution and Storm Rising). Uprising was about Tracer's first mission as an Overwatch agent, taking down the Null Sector robot terrorists in London. Retribution is about Blackwatch taking out the Talon member/businessman, and fucking things up for Overwatch. Storm Rising is about capturing Maximilien, the robot, and member of the Talon terrorist organization to which Reaper, Doomfist, Sombra, Widowmaker etc. also belong. IIRC, Overwatch wanted the location of Doomfist, who they then captured as seen in Doomfist's origin cinematic. The cowboy's name used to be Jesse McCree. However, there was a huge scandal at Blizzard and Activision, where it came to light that a lot of their employees sexually harassed the female employees, and were general assholes. McCree was named after one of those guys, so they changed his name to Cole Cassidy in Overwatch 2.

Fun fact about Sigma! He suffers from Schizophrenia and Talon (Guy who is the villain and is leader of blackwatch) uses that to his advantage. He believes the world is singing to him when in his mind a melody is playing. Tbh is a very wholesome character despite how manic he seems.

I know this is 5 months ago but in case you didn't know, Talon is not a person, it's a criminal organisation led by Doomfist, blackwatch was a special black ops version of overwatch with reaper cassidy moira and genji before overwatch split up, hence why reaper is still agent reyes as it happened before moira tested on him to the point that he became what he is now, genji's cybernetics are rudimentary, cassidy still has both arms and moira is not with talon. It was after blackwatch disbanded that reaper and moira joined talon after moira was kicked out of overwatch and I believe agent reyes was presumed dead. Sigma doesn't necessarily suffer from schizophrenia it is more that being that close to an unstable black hole completely broke his mind and caused his personality to split. Sigma has good intentions but is being brainwashed and manipulated by talon so they can use his power (able to control gravity and create mini black holes that he can control). I believe Moira is the one mainly doing the brainwashing
