Looks nicer than dragons in building! More weld and bolt detail and the rolled steel texture on the Academy I've not seen any on my dragon full interior beob kit atoll! Looks like I got a lot of extra work to be doing! Detail on road wheels especially rollers is very raised and noticeable compared to Dragon's! I think I'll have to get this kit next! Look alot easier of a built too Dragon's was going great till finished interior n noticed parts missing from instructions and trying to find interior detail on panzer 2s is near impossible!

The Type II is still a relative small armoured vehicle, even in 1/35 scale. Are there kits available in 1/24 or in 1/16 scale? I would consider buying those. But as always a great build, thank you!
@PeacemakerT13 жыл бұрын
Amazing job as always :) I'm just wondering how you setting up your airbrush for tamiya paints as my Infinity blocking every time I try to use them in it :/ I have 0.2mm nozzle but I have tried to play with pressure and mix ratio and it seems like paint is drying inside the nozzle before even leaves the airbrush :(
@ScaleModelAircraft3 жыл бұрын
Weird, very weird behaviour of your AB, are your sealants in the right order? Just to let you know this is 0.4mm setup becouse it's very simple camouflage. But I have sprayed with 0.15 and 0.2mm with Tamiya paints as well. 🤔 All the best! Dusan. Edit: only thing that I have observed is higher/faster consumption of the paint during the airbrushing with H&S AB
@PeacemakerT13 жыл бұрын
@@ScaleModelAircraft it's as I can say a brand new airbrush as it was 2nd use of it since I bought it and it does same thing every time with Tamiya. Revell aqua line goes pretty nice. I'm thinking about using retarder for Tamiya paints in this case. Paint consumption with 0.2mm is quite big comparing to 0.4 which I got in other no name. Moght need to invest in bigger nozzle in meantime before I try retarder :(
@helgelippert19703 жыл бұрын
@@PeacemakerT1 I have the same airbrush and use Tamiya paints as well. I only use Mr. Hobbys Laquer based Leveling Thinner. This contains a Retarder and I never had any issues with it. If you are working with Tamiya X20A Thinner I recommend their original Retarder. I spray with around 20 PSI or about 1,4 bar.
@PeacemakerT13 жыл бұрын
@@helgelippert1970 Thank you for info :) I do use X20A thinner so I'll go for original retarder then. As I mentioned before I have tried with various settings on pressure and outcome was always the same :(
@KJ-kn8pg3 жыл бұрын
Another great build Dusan! May I ask you, how would you thin Tamiya paints in 0.2mm airbrush? Asking because you are IMHO the best airbrush user on youtube! (my airbrush: sparmax sp-020 2.0mm). Thanks in advance!
@ScaleModelAircraft3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind words! Three options, original thinner, alcohol 96% with few drops of retarder for acrylic and laquer based thinner from Tamiya/Self leveling thinner. You can't go wrong with any path you choose, only the curing times are different. For Sparmax 0.2mm I would choose the first two, I would avoid the laquer based, because you have to upgrade parts with Teflon rings first. All the best! Dusan.
@xRepoUKx3 жыл бұрын
From 40:60 to 60:40 with Mr Color Leveling Thinner is ideal for Tamiya paints.
@KJ-kn8pg3 жыл бұрын
@@xRepoUKx is Gunze thinner better for Tamiya paints thatn Tamiya thinner itself? Very curious, btw I am using x-20a.
@xRepoUKx3 жыл бұрын
@@KJ-kn8pg I'd tried X20A, X20A with Windsor & Newton flow improver, isopropyl, and isopropyl with flow improver and they were OK for sure with Tamiya acrylics but there's a few channels on YT that recommended Mr Color Levelling Thinner so I tried it and I do prefer it. Tamiya Lacquer Thinner with Retarder is supposed to be very good too.
@KJ-kn8pg3 жыл бұрын
@@xRepoUKx yeah but lacquer stinks badly and you gotta have way better ventilated area to airbrush which I don't got and respirator is 100% needed. But I will surely try Mr color leveling thinner, running out on x-20a and I will give Mr color leveling thinner a go, after all, experimenting in this hobby is what makes you better. Thanks for the tip, cheers.

Hey, nice job! What was the purpose of X-22 in painting mix?
@ScaleModelAircraft3 жыл бұрын
X22 clear will help XF (matt) paints with leveling purposes and will "kill" dead flat look. Also if you are planning to use clear over the camouflage, you'll use less clear anyway. But mainly it will help with the "self" leveling. All the best! Dusan

Why are you using two different types of glue? Is there any difference between the two, aside from the color.
@ScaleModelAircraft3 жыл бұрын
The Revell is thick slower drying time. You probably asked about the Mr.S cement, the Black is mainly for visual effects so you can see where did you applied the glue. Great for fuselage, wing 2 fuselage joints etc. You can see all the joints, great for white plastic kits. I think that the regular SP is 20% stronger. All the best!

This is an artform all to itself. 1/35 scale is by for the superior scale. 1/72 is just too small. And the amount of products and techniques are endless in the scale. I have been doing dioramas and adding weathering/battle damage/aging and soldier made modifications lately. Assets like tanks rarely looked like the factory versions after a year of service. Trying to recreate that is an art all its own.
