I personally prefer Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Of course it is a completely different scent, but not different enough (for my taste) to own both. Especially after waiting a couple of hours, they get more and more similar (kind of the same scent "family").

I just picked up a bottle! It touched down in New York at about 2:00PM today. To me, it smells like a more upscale, refined version of the original that smooths out the harsh metallic note that the original had and replaces it with some very soft and sensual oud and patchouli. Gorgeous composition as far as I'm concerned, and probably my favorite from the brand, although I did like the original as well. Definitely try it on skin, though, because with brands like PDM with high concentrations of naturals, it smells so different on skin than on the blotter strips. Carlisle, for example, which is one of the best of the brand, doesn't work at ALL on my skin, so do make sure you sample before you buy.

@@SP-sl6dj For me personally? Definitely. However, I view it as the more dressed-up version of the original, so it's a little bit different as far as occasion even though it is still quite versatile. The only thing is that I was able to get the original for $145 from discounters, whereas the Exclusif is only available at full retail for $375 for the 120ml, so that's also a serious consideration.

Thanks for sharing your impressions, Mike. Your comments provide some additional insights that actually increase my interest in trying this. Pegasus is good but falls short of being great IMO. Your comments have made me hopeful that the Exclusif version adds what what missing from the equation in the original. But I’ll wait for the decanters to get in the game. Not gonna blind-buy at full retail.

Tested Pegasus Exclusif against the original yesterday in Miami with brand head Yvan Jacqueline. It really shines on the dry down at least on my skin with a somewhat similar opening to the original. Definitely one to pick up.

I just feel like the opening of Pegasus Exclusif is very similar to Layton Exclusif. They have the same DNA. The difference I believe is in the dry down, I just love the way Pegasus Exclusif smells as it dries down, goes very sweet and vanilla which I really like. Don’t know if I want to spend that much money if I already own Layton Exclusif. I want something creamy, vanilla and warm and was wondering if Herod would tick that box? Any suggestions? Not a fan of Carlisle.

I tried Pegasus Exclusif this morning and I’ve to say: it’s a mixture of the original Pegasus mixed with Layton Exclusif and bit of Carlisle. Overall I like it. Performance is good, it didn’t last much on my skin (5hrs) but still heavy on clothes. I sprayed 3 times only. One on hand and 2 on my t shirt.

Just got a 100 ml bottle in the mail not even an hour ago from fragrance x . I think it’s a 2019 batch but if any one is interested in what batch I have feel free to reply to me. Seems to have a very nice balance scent of that fruity pineapple and nice Smokiness. Haven’t had it on long yet so can’t say how well longevity is. However I did one spray in my hand and it’s projecting like a beast right now.

Layton is excellent. Pegasus is pretty good but far from being what I would call a standout in PDM’s lineup, despite its apparent commercial success. Before you try Pegasus, I suggest you try Herod, Carlisle and Oajan. All three (plus Layton) are IMO much, much better than Pegasus, although they’re each very different fragrances from Pegasus.

Hmm. Pegasus is good, but not great. I’ll wait and try a decant of this when one becomes available. It would be interesting to try Exclusif versions of Herod, Carlisle and Oajan.

Demi I agree with you, Pegasus is not one of my favorits from PDM but I still like it. Layton Exclusif however, is one of my favorits from the house. So I'm curious how this one works. By the way, I totally get what you mean when you say there is something in Pegasus that doesn't chime with me; I have found a simple inclusion (layering) of a fresh (not animalistic) jasmin scent remedies that problem.

I personally wouldn't wear the exclusif line as a signature scent. They aren't meant for everyday, all-occasions use. Safer ones would be Percival, Sedley or even original Layton.
