Yes, as long as the entire rig is over 3/8oz, you will have no issue.

What size for salmon? 200 or 300 any recommendations?

If you're fishing Humpies, Dogs, Silvers or Reds in the salt - a 200 will get the job done if you're casting or jigging them in shallow water. To troll, you might want to size up to a 300 for more line capacity. Kings in the river when they're running, or trolling down deep - you'll want a little more drag to slow them down in the current - a 300 or 400 size will be better suited for that job. Can you make the 400 with a large double paddle handle?

The standard speed model comes with a double paddle, and the high-speed model comes with a power-type handle. Both handle styles will fit both models.

I would like to understand Penn's marketing department. The best time to go fishing is the summer when we have vacations, kids are home, and all that. However, Penn thinks that it is better after that time to come out with new product. Really?

Thank you for your feedback! Most of our new products are released at ICAST, the largest Sportfishing Tradeshow in the world which occurs in July every year. That is why you will see new product releases in the summer months, but may not see availability until later in the year.
