The stylistic challenge for the new PEUGEOT 308 SW was to convey character and driving pleasure while offering an excellent load volume. As with the sedan, the shape of the structure has been optimized to design a steeply sloping roof and increase the area available for rear design without compromising interior space.
The new PEUGEOT 308 SW is a vehicle with a strong personality that embodies the idea of style at the service of function. It was designed to draw attention to an object whose main objective is loading, space on board and practicality. The wheelbase is 55 mm longer than that of the sedan, which benefits the slim silhouette and the space available in the rear.
The rear of the new PEUGEOT 308 SW has the characteristic shape of the new PEUGEOT 308 side panel, carved in depth and generating a pronounced light intake that visually pushes the car to the ground.
The design of the side window insert, which falls faster than the roof, creates a material variation (stronger body color) that gives the new PEUGEOT 308 SW a particularly dynamic silhouette in the segment.
At the rear are the sedan's narrow LED headlights, but without the black design cues they associate with the latter. Instead, the new PEUGEOT 308 SW tries to increase the proportion of perceived bodywork, especially on the tailgate, to show the extra volume and draw the eye to the extra space.
As with the sedan, the rear was also designed in such a way that the air flow is optimally matched to the aerodynamics. The front apron is particularly impressive because, as an extension of the lower part of the side panel, it acts like an aerodynamic wind deflector, breaking up the airflow coming from the doors.
On the front end, the new PEUGEOT 308 SW bears the new PEUGEOT brand coat of arms in the radiator grille. Its presence is enhanced by the pattern of the grille, which gradually converges towards it.
As a design and technology evolution, the radar for the driver assistance systems disappears behind the coat of arms (radome technology with radar-compatible indium) and is given a place of honor in the radiator grille. The license plate was moved to the lower edge of the front end.
From the basic version onwards, the headlights use the LED technology of the first equipment level. The headlights are angular and sharp, contributing to the dynamism and identity of the new PEUGEOT 308 SW. They are complemented by daytime running lights in the form of fangs on the front bumper. This light signature fits perfectly with the current style of the lion brand, which is recognizable at first sight day and night.
On the GT and GT Pack trim levels, the Full LED headlights are even narrower and become PEUGEOT Matrix LED technology, for more efficiency and safety in everyday life.
At the rear, the headlights adopt full LED technology with the three claws for a modern, brand-typical light signature.

Just got mine a week ago; diesel GT version in Avatar Blue. Simply love it. Took a bit to adjust to the new features (had a 2014 Giulietta for the past 9 years) but eventually I’ll get used to it. The comfort is amazing, massage feature is great and it’s a good sized vehicle to have in Tokyo. Thanks for the great review

I drove Peugeot for over 15 years. Last one was previous generation of 308, T9. Sold it to my brother. It's fantastic car with 2.0HDi engine, 150HP and EAT6 automatic gearbox. This 308 from video really looks great, but the engine choice is so disappointing. 1.2 is horrible engine! Be aware! Timing belt in oil is a big no! Just google it, this engine has numerous issues! 1.5 HDI is much better choice, but it has only 130HP, which is a no for me. Even 1.5 had some issues with camshaft change, so make sure your 1.5 HDI has a revised version of it. Shame, I always liked Peugeot, but what they did with engines is unacceptable for me. My next car is Volvo, at least they have 2.0 engines with 4 cylinders.

Agrre with you, im also owner of the 2.0hdi sw 2015. Dont know why they quitted 2.0hdi,the best engine, now i have to look for a tdi or similar...

Wish I never bought this car. Looks good. Electronics terrible. Lots of malfunctions. Dealership has no answers for me, factory has no answers for the dealer. If it is not fixed within the next 2 months i will trade it in or hope it will catch fire when nobody is near it.
