I look forward to the comparison to the new Crossover club. It would also be good to throw in the standard iron at the same loft. Carry and total distances would be an interesting mix. Also a comparison of the Crossover with the Adams DHY would be good. I currently have a 21* DHY cut to 39" and it fits well between a 3 and 4 iron. All the best for 2016 and your quest for the Open with little Pete.

Rick, this is just a suggestion. You can fine tune a 19* hybrid to hit into a range of 30 yard difference just by changing the length of the shaft. In fact, my argument is we should be putting the same swing weight/flex as our 2 and 3 irons into these hybrids so it really is a long iron replacement that can hit a solid approach from the rough into a green at 200+ and still stick. Where I can hit a solid 3 or 4i but the long grass will take all spin off and it will roll off every time. Much easier to just fly it into the green with something like this. I can't wait to try this one out!

Rick a hybrid is usually more upright hence the more left shots. With a face to path like yours a hybrid is going to go left. I think lie angle adjustability is key. Don't agree you can't manipulate the flight with a hybrid. If you understand dynamic loft it's just like any other club

Not really they are designed to launch high. It'll go higher than an iron if the same loft is delivered.

+Cornwall1888 it will launch at what ever loft you deliver. And you can take loft off by manipulating your swing

Darren Brown the launch angle and club face loft delivered aren't the same thing a hybrid will usually launch higher than an iron if the same loft is delivered due to the cg being further back etc... Drivers usually launch at about 14 degrees but the loft being delivered is usually about 9 degrees, for the pros at least. Some hit down in their drivers but the launch is still about 5 degrees higher than the loft delivered I'm not saying you can't hit a hybrid low but it is harder.

+Cornwall1888 I appreciate static loft is different to dynamic loft delivery. I was making the point that Rick says a hybrid just goes up in the air. When you can knock they down with differing delivery. And the point that they are usually set more upright so tend to go left if not fitted or aware of this. I understand launch angle etc having had my last lesson from mark Crossfiled. But to be fair we sound like the same type of golfer :)

The loft adjustments on my Cobra FlyZ hybrid gives me about 30 yards of movement from lowest to highest loft settings, and I will make adjustments based on how I need it on a specific course or conditions. Not sure why ping would leave that bit of technology out
