Any class is fine for new players really. I'd suggest you try a few (or even all) classes until level 10-20. Then you play the 1 or 2 classes you like the most until 30, and when that is satisfying you continue. I think that way you'll end up with a level 50 that suits your play style :)

I'm going to start off as a Spellslinger. I was torn between Warrior or Spellslinger for awhile, but I like what Spellslingers have going for them more and the fact that you can be a Chua Spellslinger really helped sway me.

This videos was VERY helpful and well done! Thank you very much for your work you put into this! The Stalker seems to be extremely strong in PVE, three hitting most standard mobs. I haven't on my class yet. But i sway between Esper, Engineer or Medic.

I chose Engineer as my first class because I like them shotguns and I don't regret it. The withdrawal leap (=backwards flying) skill is very handy in crowd control situations. Nice simple video showcasing the basic class concepts!

Great video Ox. the comparison at the end really made things perfectly clear.I'll be working on my recently level capped mordesh warrior at reload , while also bringing my spellslinger up to cap.I'm one of those that dropped out after the first 2 months and it was not due to the game. I had some health issues that knocked me on my butt, but I'm back with a vengeance and already subbed for the next year. Hope to see you all in game.

Subscribed! I am going to play Warrior. It seems like it has a very visceral feel and has good "feedback." In some of the MMO's I've played recently I've been playing ranged DPS so It's a nice change up too!

Oxtube Looks like I lied to you, went with the Stalker instead... tried it really quick on a whim... and it was so much fun. Definitely had a different flavor than the other classes for me. Any beginner Stalker tips?

Stalker is my main :D I love it. beginner tips.. hmm not really.I think the stalker is pretty self explanatory at the beginning. Impale is your main damage output, and later in the game your overall damage output is mostly determined by your suitpower regeneration & cooldown management.

I played in the beta and loved the medic, but after watching your guide iv'e got a few new classes I want to try. After being a WoW sub for so many years, I couldn't bring myself to pay monthly for a game even one that i fell in love with. I'm so happy they decided to go F2P :)

If I do, I'd either be an Esper or a Stalker...I think the only thing I am mad at is how there's a lot of management and everything, but the enemies don't look like they even flinched at the giant ice crystals. Kinda takes me out of it when there's no reaction to the huge ability. But whatever.

The Medic is my class of choice. It's the most technologically advanced out of all classes thematically, has really amazing class sets and resonators aren't too shabby as weapons. I was at first interested in Spellslinger, cause who doesn't want to pew pew in a sci-fi game, but as it turns out they're basically just mages with guns, Medic is where the real futuristic pew pew class.

Spellslinger all the way! In my opinion it's the best class in the game. I find the lore description of the class, and the type of person it appeals to to be hilarious! I like to be hitting all sorts of movement keys while I'm playing, and Spellslinger fits it perfectly! It's a requirement, actually! Spellslinger is of the most versatile classes in the game, and the only one that excels at both tank and group healing. Couple all of that with the fact that they look so awesome, and you've got yourself the PERFECT class! I love the class gameplay so much that I carry four sets of gear on me at all times PvE DPS,PvE Heals, PvP DPS and recently Pvp Heals! It's the first class I've ever played, and it's the last class in star I'll play. That's how much I love it :) Did I mention I love Spellslinger?

I will be continuing to play my engineer, which I have played as my main for some time, dps main spec and tank OS. I picked it over a slinger, partly for class comp reasons and partly because I really enjoy the engi.

I'm undecided between Medic and Stalker, on one hand dubstep, on the other, stealthy Wolverine. But I'm leaning towards Medic because they it looks like they're one of the least common classes, so I probably won't have a hard time finding groups :D

I'm torn between 3 classes mostly. Medic for the resource system and AoE and flexability. Esper for the range, lifestealing sustain and the redonk amount of crowd control. And thirdly warrior for the all around melee bad-assery. :P Been mostly leveling Medic and Esper since f2p announcement, so will likely continue on. :D

Great vid Oxy. Too bad it is missing the demonstration of healing/tanking spells but it is understandable given the circumstances under which this video was created. It's hard to decide which class I would want to main.. though I think Esper is probably going to be my main.. I tried spell slinger for a while and while it was enjoyable at times.. it was extremely hard to get a good LAS setup for dpsing properly. I want to try Esper because I liked it initially but died so often due to the initial lack of mobility they had (had to stand still for basic Psi builder). Now with the updates and Esper being more mobile, I think I will main it and give it another shot. Also for slinger, I will still make one, but I don't think I'll be maining it.. at least not yet.

Already got a warrior and SS at lvl 50 and have been levling a medic to around lvl 18 or so.. But thinking of maybe swapping to engineer even if I don't really like the pet system I'm really interested in their resource system!

Was an Alpha / Beta tester Supported this game through the good and the bad, Played hard to buy the BiS Crafted gear, which is not my fault that carbine made crafted gear better then GA gear for Medic healers, Infact only 1 item was an upgrade for me in GA the resonators off Ohmna. So throughout my time in Wildstar raiding in GA I did what any responsiable raider would do, Pass on gear that wasn;t an upgrade, so others who needed it could use it. Now I understand Carbine needed to nerf crafted gear I get that But now after this latest patch I cant even run GA anymore. They nerfed the crafted gear I had for 12 months, so badly it is now only level 40 gear iLvL 42. I can barely run dungeons. So for me that was a massive slap in the face. And is the reason I have officially left Wildstar for good.'.

Ox! Great video, and I noticed that your stalker has a peculiar LAS and moves very quickly all of the time. I have a level 50 stalker and am attuned, yet I still don't know what amps you have that allow you to move this quickly while keeping high DPS and the extra suit power. What is your amp setup that allows you to have the best of all worlds?
