Thanks for explaining Fractals, I had seen that term thrown around but had no idea what it meant so I really need to find a guild that has people willing to teach me this kinda stuff lmao. I have quit the game multiple times in the past because I got bored of completing hearts but recently have seen so many videos explaining content and mechanics that I didn't even know was a thing in the game. With the new expansion coming out I feel like getting back into the game and hopefully now i'll enjoy it a lot more since i'm actually aware of more than 5% of what is possible in the game now. Arena Net really needs to work on their tutorials xD

I have also seen many groups with "new players" just working through fractals lately. I know myself and some other vet players, really enjoy seeing these and joining them. And are happy to explain some of the more complex "less obvious" mechanics. Doing those lvl 1's with some newbies is relaxing as I can go at your pace instead of the pace of the players running them solely for loot. Fractals have gotten quite a bit more complex since I started ( and had my guild at the time drag me through what was basically T4 when I had no AR ), so I hope this guide really helps new players trying to get into it. Thanks for focusing on them.

A few notes: -Research pages come from the daily *recomended* fractals (one per tier) -Integrated matrices also drop from cms 98, 99 and 100 -Don't buy keys and open encryptions UNLESS you have the Recursive Resourcing mastery, if you don't, you'll lose money. Buying +9s from the tp is a good way of boosting you up the tiers, it might cost a bit but it pays itself very quickly

I stopped doing Fractals cause i was sick of dealing with toxic players from certain guilds. Make a mistake get abuse for it. Told i was using the wrong build and isntead of them offering a build they just said learn to play. like how are you meant to learn to play with out playing... If i do them now i just stick to tier 1s cause i can just solo them with some patience.

As a semi new player i have tried fractals a few times, only groups saying new players welcome. And all everyone does is sprint ahead leaving 2-3 of us behind often lost. Players are the worst part of fractals, it reminds me of doing daily dungeon in eso.

Have you considered asking them to slow down because you didn't know what was going on? I came back to the game recently and didn't know there were new fractals and was really lost during them, when I asked, I got quick explanations and mesmer portals. In short: have you considered socialising in your online social game?

Great video. 1 extra piece of info: The last one at augmentations is fractal attunement. It gives small bonus dmg/hp regen/agony resist/bonus rewards per tier unlocked. It is absolutely not necessary to unlock these, fractals are worth doing without it, but this will be the biggest thing to work towards if you play fractals

Weird i never got kicked from a pub, up to tier 3 party comp doesnt matter you just have to know the mechanics and have exotic gear. If You don't know the mechanics yet try doing tier 1 and 2 or watch a video. And if You can't find a group make your own lfg, around reset time they get full almost instantly.

a heads up, if you going to do ad infinitum, DONT spend your fractal relics on any thing, dont buy gear or trinkets or rings with it, do your daily fractals plus recommended, you will have rings for days and if lucky get asc gear from it, go for +11 AR, it will cost you every time you have to remove infusions and replace them with new ones, go big at start and save money, if you dont find a group to do it with, go in LFG and make your own group, people WILL join you, if no one joins you in 30 min, go do something else and come back later, people might be sleeping while you are playing lol

As someone that considers themself new, maybe lead off with how to get into fractals to start. And then the turnoff came when you need to have a static group. I play solo so I don't really have friends so fractals don't sound like they're for me

He said it’s beneficial, you don’t need a static group. Just that a group that is familiar with each other will likely be more efficient than a group of randoms. Letting you push higher and faster. But go for it, see how level one goes. I’m just getting started myself and it’s just another thing to go for besides open world stuff.

There's some misinformation at the end there. The personal fractal level is account wide, if you have a character you've grinded to fractal lvl 100 you can instantly enter all fractals on another character, no grind needed.

As a DD and first character, I have been playing for six months and determined that crafting ascended gear was my best option. Outside of pvp and open world events, people seem to write off the thief class. I'm hoping changes will be made to the thief class in order to be considered "good enough" to join the meta pve group.

I've been raiding with my thief for over a year now. It is definetly a class you can play. Started with power DD, and pylon kiter deadeye then also condi specter and after I got my legendary armor my group often wants me to play alac specter. Its fun in pve and hopefully it stays so after the patch

I've played DD in the highest tier of fractals (often being the highest DPS and survived the longest due to DD evades), nobody cares as long as you know mechanics and are pulling your weight in dps. I recommend learning your rotation and reading up on the mechanics for the daily fractals.

The one thing I don't see being emphasized with a lot of guides: learn how to play your class. That's not an starter priority goal, but should aways be on the back of your head. If you are a healer, learn how to apply all your boons. Vallun has some amazing explicative runs on Firebrand and I learnt a lot from him. If you are a dps/boon dps, learn hot to mash your buttons with enough speed lmao. Most rotations can be boiled down to skill priorities and pressing fillers in between. FAST. In contrast, there is a lot of low intensity builds that can pump a lot of damage with minimal effort and inputs, so you can focus on mechanics first. One crucial thing are breakbars. So to everyone, learn what CC you can offer. When the breakbar breaks, it is a burst phase and you should be ready to deal the most damage you can.

Have to disagree, unless you are in a guild and doing a guild run, don't bother with fractals. You will spend more time trying to form a group then playing.

Check the LFG around the daily reset time (or shortly after). You should see groups forming for people who want to knock out their dailies.

If you are F2P, I would say the expansions are definitely worth it. If you don't want expansions (and therefore access to the trading post) you can also do dungeons and buy dungeon armor from a vendor in Lion's arch near the fractal entrance. Berserker's for power builds and Carrion or Condition damage builds. There are also Karma merchants around the core maps that sell these too. The Tequatl meta event in Sparkfly Fen is also a good way to build gold and Karma that's core Tyria.

Okay, I'm with you on the gold and gear.... but.... People, and distressing mechanics. Not only do I have to learn about a damage over time, thing, and painfully confusing and frustrating mechanics, like... mist...lock I think you said-- I dunno... I'm 4 minutes into your video and already confused- But having to learn all those mechanics and to coordinate with 4 other people just sounds like hell on earth. If there were a means for me to do lower level fractals alone or with NPCs, so I could learn them first and foremost, I would prefer that. But, Despite how long I've owned Gw2, I've only done 2 fractals, and I either felt like an absolute burden, or like I was entirely useless to the party. And to make it worse? The party regularly lets you know that you are in fact, that burden.

You can buy rings trinkets and neckles with 100 prisma relicks andnyoucan choose the stat on them. Paying 10 relics you CAN reset those rings and they are ONLY rings trikkets and neckles I know which stats you can chance 😂

As a beginner I start in here but is not worth you time, to level your agonny resistece you need to atune the rings wich mings you need to farm tiers 1 fractals, the amaunt of times and effort to do this is insane, cauntless haurs doing the same thing over and over for what 2 or three relics?? The only thing is woth the time are the rings, ups sorry not all stats are available, teapot have said hi has never use fractals for Armour never ever, pvp is wey better and you get 20 gold in ranked and you can repeat the chest, fractals are one of the worst gamemodes of gw2, y only see beguiners doing it, and the veterans just do the fractal 42, progresión in Gw2 hits you hard but in fractals does not make eny sense, in wvw I'm rank 66 and i not play that at all, but I spend hundreds of haurs in fractals and I just got one ring atuned, do not go and waist your time in there, you will thank me later
