And with shorter development cycles for larger-scale content (i.e. 1-2 years on a AAA title as opposed to 3-5) coupled with reports about morale within the dev staff being low, some people are started to get concerned for the wellbeing of Game Freak employees.

im so glad you got to experience this! one of the main reasons i love this game and the original snap is that it recontextualized pokemon in a very real setting. before, it was only the anime that showed us pokemon as real but with pokemon snap you got to see them up close and "living" as real animals do. it made them feel more real.
