This is why people like Porsche. They release the Turbo versions as quickly as possible, within a few months, if not even weeks, after release of standard/base trims. BMW takes too long, sometimes a full year or more, to release full M versions of their cars, and that’s unimpressive in this day and age.

I personally prefer the standard Cayenne because of the space you lose in the coupe version! If your buying an SUV I'd think you'd want more space for kids, dogs and cargo etc.. Can't understand this whole light weight sports thing because it's a heavy SUV and not a 911. Plus on top of that you lose the airiness of the glass roof which makes the interior look brighter and bigger! I think the sweet spot engine wise is the S with 434hp! Not crazy like the turbo but enough power to get you out of trouble when passing on those two lane roads like Thomas was. Think it's called time exposed to danger if I'm not wrong. Your old S-Max and Galaxy 2 in one review was the reason I have subscribed to this channel, it was super helpful. Good review as always. The shutdown of 4 cylinders helps fuel economy but the downside could be early replacement of the 4 cylinders bank that is used more frequently because of wear and tear or the 4 cylinder bank used less frequently because of oil deprivation. The only way to avoid this would be to open it up on the highway or expressway. The American manufacturers used this on some trucks and many owners opt for a tuner plug-in on their OBD under the dash that will enable all 8 cylinders to operate for even wear at the cost of less fuel efficiency. This of course would preclude those under the Porsche warranty as it could be voided and one should probably wait until the warranty expires.

It's sort of good to know the infotainment screen still gets blazing hot. We have a previous gen Turbo S, and like Thomas said, the screen gets uncomfortably hot to the touch for more than a couple seconds at a time.

Interesting! On Porsche USA website, they list Cayenne Coupe GTS and Turbo as having slightly lower curb weight than their regular alternatives GTs and Turbo...by about 18-30 lbs. That's without the lightweight package it seems.

This is how the Cayenne should have looked from the beginning! I understand it's not practical from an SUV stand point, but this looks more like a big Macan and personally, I think the Macan is 10 times better looking than the 'standard' Cayenne.

Cayenne SUV for me never looked appropriate for Porsche. It always reminded me a bit of VW Touareg which is exactly what you don’t want to happen when buying Porsche. With the coupe they finally nailed it although I’d love to see a bit if reshaped front mask.

I owned an Audi with air suspension with 4 modes, 90% of the time the car is positioned in Normal mode then adjusts for high-speed for off-road characteristics. So my question would be what is the ground clearance in Normal mode? This data is not found on Porsche’s website. As always, I enjoy your reviews!

Approximately. Very exact horsepower figures also differ from market to market, and from car to car. Porsche for example also usually underestimates the effective horsepower figure of the vehicle.
