Looks like Stihl and Greenworks are sharing homework with their ETO port and accessories. The port locations are exactly the same. That front hitch mount bracket is exactly the same. The Bluetooth remote for controlling the blower attachment was the same on both mowers. And the fan body between the two units are the same as well. So there is some cross pollination there between the brands/products. Makes you wonder who is manufacturing what.
@ToolShow

Greenworks is making Stihl for them. :) And yeah, I didn't even notice at first, and I did the dang interviews. LOL I just figured it was the same strategy. But then when we were shooting the Stihl segment, I caught on in the middle of it, when I pointed to the bluetooth controller, which was EXACLTY The same device. As it turns out, in 2016 Stihl bought a minority but "substantial" share of Globe Tools, which makes GreenWorks tools.

Gotta say that Greenworks saw geat the new Milwaukee into the ground. And all my battery tools are Milwaukee. Milwaukee were brilliant when I started buying them 10 years ago, now they are resting on their laurels. They need to start really innovating again and building tools that are that 10- 20% better.

I'm not anti battery powered by any means. One of my favorite tools is a battery powered Echo hedge clipper. But I can say from a commercial perspective battery powered blowers aren't nearly as practical as gas for fall leaf cleanups. I can run my Echo 9010 all day with it's 48nm of force and it weighs less than many battery powered backpacks. The trimmers are pretty close, but manufacturers are making mistakes with the weighting and power levels. For weekly trimming you really only need a 21-25cc gas engine equivalent amount of power. The more "commercial" grade battery trimmers try to pack more punch than that and it pushes the weight above what mosr guys like to use. Most of us prefer trimmers that weigh less than 12lbs preferably lighter. While that sounds wimpy it gets heavy if you're doing upwards of 100 lawns a week. I was at the expo this year and demoed many electric trimmers and blowers. Maybe next year the tech will be better.

I’ve used a Honda HS724 for many hundreds of hours clearing snow at the family ski cabin. So I’m familiar with the capabilities of a decent gas snowblower. I bought a single stage EGO snow blower for my parents primary residence (which is also in the mountains). I honestly bought it for myself and then realized it was more than I needed in the city. The EGO is honestly probably not that far off the Honda in terms of power. My dad suggests he’s going to get a big 2 stage EGO for the cabin because he likes the little unit so much. I think our family is all getting tired of the fumes transporting gas in our cars and breathing exhaust if we don’t have to.

Good feedback. We typically don't cover gas for two reasons. First, the bulk of innovation is in battery power, because that's where the market is reluctantly going. Second, when we did try to cover gas, it was all practically identical stuff, there's too much to cover, and our audience skipped it. Maybe next year, we can go all three days, and dedicate a single episode to Gas powered tools and innovation. Thanks for the feedback!

No one is mowing in zub zero weather when grass literally doesn't grow. Heat doesn't bother these. There are EVs on the road with hundreds of thousands of miles, and their batteries are still going strong. You need to pay attention to where your information is coming from. If they're paid to tell you Electric is bad (even though you're watching their show on an electric TV, or your battery powered phone) then you can't expect to be informed.

LOL! LOL! LOL! Hey Look at all these "battery powered tools!!!" LOL LOL! LOL! i have almost every Ryobi battery hand tool they make. I also have Milwaukee and Dewalt battery hand tools. BUT THAT'S ALL I'M EVERY GOING TO BUY/OWN!! why??? have you priced the batteries for the "big tools"??? they are HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS each!! and Home Depot took the "battery zero turn" mower out of my local Pittsburgh, PA store because it was $6000 dollars (!) and sitting beside the $3500 (gas) Cub Cadet Zero Turn - it just looked RIDICULOUS. i can't imagine what that GIANT BATTERY BOX you put on a trailer for the "Greenworks" machines would cost. that giant battery "system" would have to run AT LEAST $50,000 just for that stupid battery!! I use small battery tools all the time and I love them. but there is going to be a COST LIMIT on battery tools just like there is on electric vehicles. so before all you "climate crisis cult members" out there who want to become "contractors" start padding yourselves on the back because you are SO RESPONSIBLE as a "world citizen" - sit down with a calculator and a piece of paper and compare the cost of large gas powered lawnmowers and tools to the battery ones. you will quickly find out that you're going to need a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY to begin with if you want to go "all electric."

I like Ego. Not sure I would buy one over a gas push mower again, but I like it. However... the "more powerful than gas" slogan is ridiculous.

The ego equipment is good equipment The batteries are trash, I bought multiple things in 2016 that were ego I have gone through two rounds of batteries spending $400 to $500 I'm just not going to do it they need to cut the price of the batteries in half or double their warranty cuz a 3-year warranty when the batteries last four is just stupid. I have two weed eaters with all the different attachments that I need I have two self-propelled lawn mowers I have the blower I have the whole setup and it just ain't worth the money to me to go spend again on these batteries The equipment's expensive enough and then it's have to turn around and basically spend over $100 a year just for batteries when you average it out it's just downright stupid.

None of these battery operated devices won't last 5 year's
@ToolShow

Why do you say that? There's a mountain of evidence refuting that claim.
@loucifer4205
@loucifer4205 Ай бұрын
@ToolShow Because I use battery operated tools and when you use them daily consider yourself lucky to get 5 years they don't last as long as the manufacturer says and if you use them really hard you get a year out of them

@@loucifer4205 That sounds like a really bad experience for sure. Mind sharing what brands you’re using, and how you use them daily?

@@jronmanbuilds The stand ons are too wide, they need a 36", it's the most popular size. Compare it to what Greenworks showed, they are behind. As an EGO owner, it's disappointing to see.
