Looks like Stihl and Greenworks are sharing homework with their ETO port and accessories. The port locations are exactly the same. That front hitch mount bracket is exactly the same. The Bluetooth remote for controlling the blower attachment was the same on both mowers. And the fan body between the two units are the same as well. So there is some cross pollination there between the brands/products. Makes you wonder who is manufacturing what.
@ToolShowАй бұрын
Greenworks is making Stihl for them. :) And yeah, I didn't even notice at first, and I did the dang interviews. LOL I just figured it was the same strategy. But then when we were shooting the Stihl segment, I caught on in the middle of it, when I pointed to the bluetooth controller, which was EXACLTY The same device. As it turns out, in 2016 Stihl bought a minority but "substantial" share of Globe Tools, which makes GreenWorks tools.

I'm not anti battery powered by any means. One of my favorite tools is a battery powered Echo hedge clipper. But I can say from a commercial perspective battery powered blowers aren't nearly as practical as gas for fall leaf cleanups. I can run my Echo 9010 all day with it's 48nm of force and it weighs less than many battery powered backpacks. The trimmers are pretty close, but manufacturers are making mistakes with the weighting and power levels. For weekly trimming you really only need a 21-25cc gas engine equivalent amount of power. The more "commercial" grade battery trimmers try to pack more punch than that and it pushes the weight above what mosr guys like to use. Most of us prefer trimmers that weigh less than 12lbs preferably lighter. While that sounds wimpy it gets heavy if you're doing upwards of 100 lawns a week. I was at the expo this year and demoed many electric trimmers and blowers. Maybe next year the tech will be better.

I’ve used a Honda HS724 for many hundreds of hours clearing snow at the family ski cabin. So I’m familiar with the capabilities of a decent gas snowblower. I bought a single stage EGO snow blower for my parents primary residence (which is also in the mountains). I honestly bought it for myself and then realized it was more than I needed in the city. The EGO is honestly probably not that far off the Honda in terms of power. My dad suggests he’s going to get a big 2 stage EGO for the cabin because he likes the little unit so much. I think our family is all getting tired of the fumes transporting gas in our cars and breathing exhaust if we don’t have to.

Good feedback. We typically don't cover gas for two reasons. First, the bulk of innovation is in battery power, because that's where the market is reluctantly going. There are EVs on the road with hundreds of thousands of miles, and their batteries are still going strong. You need to pay attention to where your information is coming from. If they're paid to tell you Electric is bad (even though you're watching their show on an electric TV, or your battery powered phone) then you can't expect to be informed.
