I would be very interested in a top loading (not motorized tray) CD transport in the 9"x6" size chassis, either height, though the 2" is probably easier. It doesn't need USB Hub functionality, and only needs SPDIF outputs. You could probably get away with just coaxial in the slim 1.5" chassis. I do think that 5 buttons and a simple display like on Urd would fit along the front, though a different display dimension may be needed. In this size I do not believe a remote is required, as I see it as mostly going with Modius or Bifrost based desktop systems.

So many people and businesses I know, are exiting California. I completely understand why and it's never one's turning their back at their Californian heritage. Why California has become somewhat unliveable, is a major head-scratcher and a large discussion topic. It's a mixture of demographics, rising costs, excessive ideology in public administrations, drastic inequalities, and so forth. California is going through a phase, and with Texas having a similar climate, a super attractive tax regime, more affordable everything, and a growing, cosmopolitan community of highly-skilled locals and expats... what's there not to like ?

Jason’s comment that tube amp sound results from the combination of an output tube and transformer. Only a few folk are left that know that art. Jason would be starting from scratch. With hard work and luck he could make a decent amp eventually. That effort might better go into s Son of Tyr, a linear power supply class AB amp now an endangered species.

Good news on a Valhalla 3 💙 I was sad to see the Valhalla 2 being discontinued, as it is a wonderful amp for my zmf og auteurs! A bit sad on Saga going tubeless: once i got a high quality rca tube in my og saga, that’s it’s sweet spot vs solid state - which is still good just mildly sterile. Bargain! Good to hear there is a new Aegir!! Maybe you could have multiple Schiitrs ? Or mobile Schiitr’s ?
