Thanx for the comparison, you have a unique point of view having both yaks. I have a 555 and love it. One annoying point tho is the middle handles were not matched to the balance point of the boat. Would have been so easy to get it right.
@fishaminmilesoutfishingadv1993 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, i think the middle handle is slightly further back from the balance point so we can hold the yak with both middle handle and the drag handle you body being in the centre of it (i.e. balance point) i guess if you want to carry with one hand using one handle, wouldnt work very well? Haha i always carry the yak using both hands and perhaps thats why i dont have any issues so far ! Thanks for the comment !
@bobclark49943 жыл бұрын
@@fishaminmilesoutfishingadv199 thanx for the reply. I guess it depends on how you use the yak. I either carry it one handed or put it on a trolley. I added extra handles on the balance point which greatly helps when putting it on the car. Cheers

Thanks for the video on here mate. I am trying to decide between a PF525 or a F500/555. The chop can get interesting here on east coast Scotland and I am still worried about the stability. My current boat is a tank.

You say 575 is faster but how much faster. Captain Gingerbeard reckons much the same? To me long and flat is meant for flat water as front end will be constantly making a audible bang sound as it hits short wave chop. (like my old Vortex, didn’t like that at all ).That’s annoying and does it scare fish when trolling I wonder. I think front end should be more curved upwards for chop entry. Any idea of speed difference from your experience. Cheers Mick.

Hey Mick, Sorry havent logged in to the channel for a while and only have seen this now. Speed wise, I honestly think it takes less effort to come up to desired speed (555 is still great but 575 is better). If i was to max out, I would say perhaps 1-2kmph difference. 555 having bit more rocker with raised nose, definitely better while riding surf when you are coming back in, but I personally find sharper profile makes it easier to gain speed through the chops still. I would say you still need to focus more on 575 when choppy as it does go little bit wobbly where 555 you can just chill back on most conditions. hope this makes sense! cheers
@dougboudreau12 жыл бұрын
I cannot find any info on the internet about the amount of rocker these kayaks have. It would be great if you could provide that if it is not too much trouble. If you measured a point on the bow/stern of the hull (right before it abruptly curves upward) to the garage floor. (5-7.5cm?)
@fishaminmilesoutfishingadv1992 жыл бұрын
Havent really measured the rocker but it is def way more less rocker than fisha models , profisha model are lot straighter visibly very noticeable ! Which i really like personally

Great comparison Min. How was the leg-room between both boats? Do you see much difference in leg room between your mate's 525 and your 575? I just got a 525. For the transducer, I had a hard time making it work through hull, so me and my mates here on Okinawa, we all ran the transducer cable through the out pipe of the live well. Some transducers can stick flat on the hull. Mine's a Garmin Striker 4, so I cut off all the extra plastic on the transducer, took off the outlet cover and sikaflexed it onto the livewell exit and it works great. The only hole I had to drill was top of the livewell into the central hatch. Keep up the good work!
@fishaminmilesoutfishingadv1993 жыл бұрын
Lengthwise, leg room for 525 and 575 feels similar as well as the width! Dont know the exact measurement but feels quite similar, though 555 leg length and width is def longer and bit wider ! I think its because its designed for bigger guys. Im 191cm tall and on 575 i use second slot if the foot rail , on 555 i use 3rd slot. Transducer i just use sikaflex in the hull, i also have striker 4, the kayaks come with the hole on the side of the fish hatch with a cover so you can easily access the hull, works quite good for me ! Haha Using the live well for the transducer sounds quite interesting ! Again, drilling a hole at the bottom to put transducer underneath the kayak also seems like lot better than what people may think ! Okinawa in Japan? Is kayak fishing quite big in Japan?
@owenphillips91663 жыл бұрын
@@fishaminmilesoutfishingadv199 Cheers for the info. I'm 1.89 and also have it on 2nd peg on 525, along with a cm of foam and I always wear some thin surfing booties - the sun out here is so strong. I took off the pedal straps as we never need to launch or land through surf. I had a nightmare trying to get the transducer to work in the hull. First time was my fault - the sikaflex was about 2cm thick! (imagine the fun I had getting that back out!). 2nd time I only did a super thin layer. The image went from nothing to something that worked up to about 10m, but nothing like it should - lots of darkness!. Now it's awesome. It was really easy to cut off the thin plastic bits on top of the transducer. The area around the out-pipe from the livewell, after taking the cover off, has a sunken circular shape which already has sikaflex in it, so real easy to sikaflex the transducer onto it and it sits fantastic. I cut along the length of the tube that controls the depth in the livetank so that I could then put it over the cable, and then taped around it and it works fine. Let me know if you would like to see some photos. Kayak fishing is growing real fast over here - as you can imagine, fishing is huge in Japan anyway. In close / off the beach the fishing can be real hard in Okinawa, so you have to paddle offshore to have a chance of catching something good. Now is springtime and a lot of the fishing is at its slowest. The jiggers still manage to get some good fish though.

I am considering a Stealth kayak for spearfishing. Which one is easier to hop on and off? Also, when you try to hop on and off with a weight belt, did you notice weights scratching the seating area?
@fishaminmilesoutfishingadv1992 жыл бұрын
hoping on and off tbh they are both very easy. I personally prefer 575 purely because its low profile and is very easy for me to grab the sides and hope on, but putting your fins on and etc 555 is def more comfortable to do that. I remove my weight belt first and put em in the hatch before i jump on for the scratching reasons. hope this helps !

Would you get this over the Viking kayaks?
@fishaminmilesoutfishingadv1993 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes I originally was trying to choose between viking reload and fisha 555 and chose 555. Vikings are awesome kayaks but Im really happy that i went with stealth. Lighter much faster larger fish hatch for kingfish , live well etc . Plastic version of stealth is available which is cheaper than viking reload AND all the features come with it where viking u need to purchase rudder system, fish pod etc hope this helps!
