Hey Ryan! Your story broke my heart. I know you didn’t ask for advice, but if you are looking for a different with more hours - every Kroger is always hiring. Overnight stock positions get an extra $1 or so differential - I haven’t worked there in almost two years so it may have increased. Might help you if you want a different job or second job. I’m sending my best wishes, unfortunately I’m unable to help in a tangible way right now. ♥️

They’re not “houseless”…they’re bums! How old is Ryan? Does he not have any family (especially his parents) to assist? Did he ever consider rooming with someone in an apartment? Does he not qualify for the city shelter? How did he get a car and insurance? Would he have saved more money to afford a low-income apartment if he used city transportation instead? After realizing life on his own is tough, did he ever consider joining the military to earn the GI Bill and tuition assistance to get a degree? A lot of unanswered questioned and most likely a lot of bad life decisions. Let’s not pretend people living in cars are unfortunate victims. This is a choice.
