We used to have a Mk1 CF at work which was nick-named the Scud. The steering was simply 'aim it in the rough direction', brakes were non-existent but it went like a rocket hence its name. 2.3l slanted 4 (pity Vauxhall chickened out of the 4.6l V8) flat out it went through a tankful of fuel in less than 100 miles. I loved it! I also had the Sanyo tape recorder.

Thanks, next video coming out Sunday is about a spare engine but I am already thinking about fitting and alternative engine instead. I will have to look at different options available. I am glad you enjoyed the video and your project sound great

Plenty of info in Australia with these having engine swaps. I’ve had a few many years ago - 307 and 350 Chev small blocks. An LS V8 is now pretty common. Or you could “Barra” turbo it. Haha! Keep body as is, change everything else. 😁♠️

Those vans are impossible to find. Dad used to bulid customs. That combo motor manual trans with modern turbo. I would drive anywhere. Have fun

Great vid as always Kev, i reckon you should resto mod the cf with a modern engine and decent suspension, the first company van i had was a cf and it was pedestrian to say the least! Where are you getting these slim led lights from they look really good?

:0 rolls royce V8 :) - gosh, so after reading your comment I have been looking at engines on eBay - I have been looking at keeping the engine GMC and who knew they fitted GM turbo v6 engines to SAABs ? now that might be an option - oh and I have bene looking for a chain link steering wheel as well :) :)

Definitely 3.9 RV8 with an autobox and Twinside pipes and fit a set of Slot mags!!
