Drove as my first learning vehicle a 1986 Ford F250 6.9L IDI diesel V8 with a manual 4spd and 4WD. One thing with these sturdy old IDI engines, was don't cheat on repairs or parts. ONLY the Motorcraft glow plugs ran right, and replacing the glow plug relay isn't that hard. Batteries should always be maximum CCA for these rigs, and fluid and filter servicing should be done religiously. Battery cables like this shock me. Crazy how they cut corners!

This one is a little rough even by slave lake standards. But It's good to see some part of it living on.
