thing is, the game will probably be extremely simple and easy execution. With some chracters being straight up braindead. Dota -> league. CSgo to Valorant. its always gonna be simpler. It will be a much more casual fighting game most likely, which is fine, but for many people, such as me, im not a huge fan.

@@johnsonjunior547 I'm very much a Riot fanboy, but League and Valorant do have complexity to them even though they're easier than their counterparts. Project L doesn't look very far from that. Even if there are braindead characters they might not have a skill ceiling as high as Ekko (to put and example), so there will most likely be ways to deal with those. Only time can tell, tbh.

i’m not too versed in fighting games, but most push blocks push the attacker away right? i think riot is trying to avoid too many zoners because the push block is actually pushing the blocker further from the attacker. this defensive option looks to only be useful out of the corner, and so zoners can’t keep pushing you off if they’re in the corner

Either I'm having a brain derp or you're mixing your terminology a bit: 1. Zoners are characters that throw projectiles at you, making sure you don't come near them. 2. Pushblock is just a (automatic) mechanic that prevents extensive or infinite block pressure. If an attacker is performing strings and you're blocking them, without pushblock, you're going to be forced to block the entirety of his string. It also prevents infinite block pressure in the corner. If an attacker is doing a string that leaves them at + at the end, then they can just do another string right after, if pushblock didn't push them out of their attacks range. "So zoners can't keep pushing you off if they're in the corner" would not be correct. That's exactly what pushblock does, it pushes people away from each other. I'm not sure how zoners would even work in this game, tbh. Everything we've seen so far suggests that the game will be all about movement and close-up pressure. Neither of those things accommodate zoners. Again, I apologize if I'm having a brain derp, but I had some difficulty understanding what you're saying exactly.

There will absolutely be Zoners in the game. Ahri is a bit more of a Brawly in your face mage in League, but there are definitely going to be Champs like Orianna or Syndra, or ADC Marksmen in the game that attack from range

Zoners can still zone. Pushblock is meant to nullify pressure

​@@SlCKNESS_ Slight correction but pushblock refers to a manual action that forces back an attacking opponent, visible in this video at 4:21 - Ahri gets a huge blue circle around her, and Darius is sent flying to the other side of the screen. What you're describing is more often called pushback, I believe. I'd also look into Marvel vs Capcom 3 as a game that is incredibly heavy on movement and pressure, but has fearsome, equally deadly zoners. (MvC3 also has pushblock) OP is also a little off, because it seems like that pushblock is definitely pushing the attacker back as one would expect.

The KI combo breaker is a scissor paper rock sort of system. This is more of a timing thing that can be punished if the opponent catches you out. Looks more along the lines of the breaker in strive only with a tag out involved.

No, the combo feels slowed down, because of hitstop. It's an in-game mechanic. It will be there. I think there's a bit too much of it, but it's fine overall.

The first thing I noticed is how flat some of the audio effects were. They need some serious work. Visual effects also need a lot of work, but I'm not too worried in that department. "Visual clarity" will not be an issue. It was (made) a top priority in LoL. Although, to be fair, they butchered a lot of nice-looking effects and dumbed down how the game looked, when they introduced that philosophy. I'm hoping they handle it a bit better in this game, but I'm sure it will look fine regardless.

Coming from a League player - yes, for sure. I can already feel the elitism building up in me and I'm far from the worst-case scenario. I also get the feeling people will be like "X champion is so cool in Project L" and League players will be like "yeah, they're awesome! I mained them in LoL for years" and the response will be "Nah, friend, they ugly af in LoL" and that's gonna be another reason why League players will not like new people who only know anything about League from Project L. Or maybe nobody would care, who knows.
