Aww, I am still in tears. Tears because the love of puppies, dog's, family. I feel so fortunate to have had so many animals in my life. However still a little partial to dog's. They are just the best, for everyone in the family. Wish I could put a picture up here in the comments, my neighbor has three huskies male has bright blue eye, older female has brown eyes, younger female has one blue eye and one brown eye! Although they are not related, all three were rescues from the shelter! Funny outside, when the mother of the house comes home from work, all three of them are at the door howling just like huskies do! Everyone can hear it! I love it they are talking you know!! Our pup just turned 11 this summer, she is our beautiful Nakita Blue! She is very mixed but looks like a dingo! Sooo Very Happy for You Guys!! Just think they will all grow up together!! Ohh and yes Beau will never be replaced, Pepper is now just another member of the whole family!

He's such a good puppy. He will train well! With so much energy around him you'll need to create quiet times for him to train. It's harder with distractions and noise. He's so cute!!! Seems like as crazy of time to be doing this...it's also just as perfect! It's very hard to have your buddy pass and to think about another and yet because you loved him so...it's hard to live without loving another. It's a testament to your love for Beau.!

For potty training tips, crate training and tether training are good things to utilize. Take out every 10-15 minutes, after naps, training sessions, play times, before bed and after you wake up, then obviously you know expect to be woken up during the night. Congratulations on your new puppy he is absolutely adorable!!

Yah definitely crate train. It decreases the likelihood of him having to go out at night often when he’s an adult. My dog slept in a crate until 2020. Then there were those few months with a crap ton of fireworks and she was having none of it. So now she sleeps with my parents and sometimes my sister. But she’s well trained enough now that we don’t worry about her getting up to pee during the night.

In 40+ years of owning dogs I have never ever crate trained. I blocked off a certain room and also used an Xpen. They all had free run of the house by 5 months. It's all about training.

Pepper is so cute. My daughter is a dog trainer and works at a boarding facility. They often have pups there that are staying as 'dog of the week' for their adoption program. My daughter has always wanted an Aussie and when the fostering coordinator made an error and sent two (non-bonded) dogs to their kennel, she offered to have the little girl stay with her for a week. No granted, this pup came from a border-line neglect case, but my daughter was shocked at how fidgety and jumpy she was. After spending a few days with her, that did improve, but my daughter summed it up as this dog is a mini Aussie Shepherd, but has the energy of a standard. She was thinking going into this that it would be a foster fail, but one of the three families that saw her that week decided to adopt her. Happy endings all around, haha.

You might already know this, but put a bell on the door with a long string. Teach him to ring it every time he has to go outside. Our dog is almost 8 and still does it to this day! Also, Target has some amazing dental bones that we get for our boy -- they're called Whimzees. They're really good for pup's teeth and ours absolutely loves his!

Omg Pepper is so cute! For potty training I would get a bell by the door so he will know when he needs to go out. And for our puppy we let him out every time he gets fed. So he can sense the pattern.

Oh my goodness...I'm in love with Pepper !! He looks almost identical to my Grandpuppy! We get the giggles at night because Quigley herds us all to bed. He makes sure everyone is in bed before he lays down. Heaven forbid someone gets up to go potty , because he does his rounds again !! Lol ! I'm so happy for your family ! He's adorable !!

Routine, routine, routine is the best way to potty train. Outside as soon as he wakes up, immediately after eating, naps etc. STAY CONSISTENT! Also kennel/crate training helps a ton with potty training plus gives the puppy his own space to retreat and take a break from the chaos. Will be a safe place for him to stay if and when you need to leave the house not to mention a way to keep a teething puppy from chewing everything up when you are away! If you have a space to keep the kennel in the house it really does work well! Good luck and welcome to the family Pepper!

I don't know about going outside right after eating. I would give it about 15- 20 minutes before going out, so his belly can rest... it will also prevent stomach twist... which can be deadly for dogs. :)

@@joannadeus9507 just what I did with my dogs when they were potty training and it works. Not going out to run and play...just teaching them to use the bathroom after eating. The routine helps them learn when and where to use the bathroom.

I also second the kennel! Which I would make his save place away from the kiddies. Gives him his own personal place to nap, relax, unwind and not been overwhelmed. His own “timeout” 🤣 I did this with him, just left the door open during the day and I would find them both in there when their where extra kids in the house. Just remember with all the running accidents can happen and he can get hurt with the babies falling in him. So the kennel gives him a safe space until he’s learned all of you and gets bigger 💙

Pepper is adorable! You can never replace a beloved pet. Your heart just expands. The best way to honor Beau Beau is to love another dog. Love the kids reaction. They are so excited and so sweet with him. As for potty training, I have always started by taking my pups outside every 20 minutes and rewarding with a treat. They learn so fast!! Bell training is also effective. I personally have never used it, but have a few friends that do, and it is pretty impressive. Have fun with Pepper!! He is a very lucky dog to be a member of your family!!!

Omg he’s precious! Maybe introduce him to Mr. gradually to avoid any conflicts. We didn’t do that with our cat when we got a puppy and it took them over a year to tolerate each other. But Pepper is such a good name! May he bring you and your family lots of love and snuggles and adventures.

This was just the best! The kids are soooooooooo besotted with Pepper already and they really took to each other fast. The last dog I had was an Australian Shepherd and he was kinda shy and standoffish for a little bit (he did eventually warm up to me and after that it was like we were best friends though). Seeing him playing chase with the kiddos warmed my heart!

Hey rachelle! We have a bissell little green, had it for about 4 years now still going strong and I use it for everything! Their amazing! Will defidently help with spills accidents etc. Would defidently recommend crate training aswell helps alot with potty training as they won't go toilet inside the crate if it's the right size then you know you gave a save place to put him unsupervised and can keep up with toilet breaks. It takes a while but just keep up with taking him outside regularly and using a toilet word cue and treats. Yourll get there! Good luck! So excited for you all 💕

Potty training tip! (I was able to potty train my corgi puppy in a week with this method) young puppies can only hold their bladder for as many months old they are (ex. 2 months old they can hold it for 2 hours). The first week I got my dog I made sure to take her out every 2 hours and would track the times in my notes app. When I would bring her out I would say potty and sometimes it did take a while but eventually she would go and then I would reward her with a treat!! If accidents do happen I highly recommend getting the nature’s miracle enzyme spray. That breaks down the enzymes in the accidents and helps prevent them from going back to the same spot!! Another time to be mindful of taking them out is after play sessions, training sessions, and meals. Basically after anytime they get a lot of stimulation! I hope this helps and congrats on Pepper!!! He’s so cute
