NEW RC Dirt Oval Track Grand Opening! All Feature Races, A-Mains, Thunder Dome in Anderson SC

Its finally here! We had the sneak peek. Then we had the open free practice day. Now the Grand Opening of the actual race day! For the first time, The Thunder Dome at American RC Speedway Opened its doors for a full race day with tons of prizes. Trophies, money, bragging right and lots and lots of fun!

Oh yeah! Usually about 5 or 6 1/8 scale nitros. Good times always.

That is a huge oval track. I race on one a 1/4 of that size.

Awesome Guitarman. There are the 3 local upstate SC tracks that I've featured on this channel. Check them out in Facebook and visit them one day to watch up close. Get a good idea of the cars and settings and such. You'll have a blast for sure

What cars are being used? What are the rules?

Sonoma Artic there are various cars and rules. Many classes are Traxxas Slash based. Others are purpose built carbon fiber chassis cars like Late Models, Sprints, SC Mod etc. I talk about various classes in many if my episode's and all rules can be found on the Grassroots Race Facebook page, SCOR (Southeast Clay Oval Racers) Facebook page and on some of the track Facebook pages like American RC Speedway, Fountain Inn RC Complex, The dirt oval at ERC page as well. If interested I also encourage you to come on out and watch a race, look at the cars and people will be happy to help and answer questions. Race schedules can be found on the pages I mentioned above as well. I appreciate the comment and support.

Thanks for the reply. Also what size are the tracks? I am just trying to figure out a little bit about this hobby as no one around my area has anything like this and i want to put something together

Well I saw an ARRMA banner ;) I am OLD. I used to race a beat down optima mId with a dirt oval chassis at places like the RC oval track in Carson California, it was right outside turn 3-4 of Ascot Raceway. Another place The Ranch Pit Stop. Worked for a airline relocated to Denver and raced a few tracks with organized oval racing. Anyway in my 60s and have two ancient Bolinks and some new ARRMA cars. Hmm, a Senton with a late model or street stock body and an Infraction on a short wheelbase chassis might be right the thing.... BEAUTIFUL track, congratulations and great success. Yes I will, if I can get there next year.
