RC Dirt Oval Racing, $300 Super Street Race, American RC Speedway

Hey everyone! Lets do some RC Dirt Oval racing!
In This episode we visit The Thunder Dome at the American RC Speedway for a fun day of racing!
This was also the first time that I've raced a Super Street car in a long time and I had an absolute blast doing it!
There was so much going on this race day that I'll have to upload another episode to cover some of the other fun that was had!
$300 payout to the Super Street class as well!

That nitro 1/8 scale race would have been cool with more cars but damn that one guy who won got into a rhythm fast and didn'take hardly any mistakes

Absolutely, it was once a very popular class and had many racers in it. The car you speak of is always fast and consistent. Great driver.

I hear you there. Some series and some tracks do get more slide it. It just locally here most tracks are tightly packed red clay and setup for traction. Some other tracks are setup for loose dirt racing which you would see more sliding. thank you for the comment and support.

I know this race was last year, but I'm hoping you will answer this anyway. I noticed that the cars were power sliding or drifting a lot through the turns during the 12T Mud Boss race. Was it because the track was more moist than the other races? Or was it because of the way the cars were set up for this class? I really like your videos, thanks!

Thank you for support. I beleive it was likely due setup. Most cars and classes wont slide/drift that much as its lost speed. With the dirt racing we do locally it more about grip racing that loose dirt racing. So some of those cars were likely tuning or learning etc. also, if they are breaking in new tires that can be a factor as well.

Great video JB! Had a question regarding Traxxis Slash, I’m looking for a mount for an LCG chassis for an SC mod body! Any input on who could possibly make that? Any info would be awesome!

Tyler I found a adjustable rear body mount on eBay that was 3D printed that worked great. If you search Traxxas slash body mounts if should pop up it's extended and adjustable. For the front, you may have to get a little creative with some lexan. Hopefully that helps. Let me know if you find what I'm talking about. I'd like it for you but I'm on a camping trip and my internet service is super slow right now.

Can you point me in the direction where I can read the rules for the mudboss class at ERC? Trying to get started and been binge watching your videos but just wanna make sure I can do the tedious work I've seen in some videos thank you and God bless sir (heading to ERC tonight to watch for the first time)

Hey Chris. The rules are posted on the Grass Roots RC Facebook page. They all three local tracks in our area follow those rules for the slash based cars.

@@jbtricklerc one more question I promise. the 8.44 voltage how do you get close to that given a 2s is 7.2 volts. What I can guess and gather is a variable voltage charger I'm assuming (used to the Traxxas chargers) could you recommend a good entry level charger and battery I wanna be competitive. Thanks!

Hey I'm a new RC oval driver iRun Street stocks but I keep hearing about this class called super Street on your channel can someone please tell me what the difference is between a regular Street Stock and a super streets is.

DJ, Street Stock and Super Street generally the same thing or close to the same thing. In fact, some tracks around here call it one or the other. Other tracks have a few different rules which can make it slightly different. I know that can come across a bit confusing but I tried to explain it the best I could lol. Track class rules have a factor in that. But, to be more specific, the Super Street Class that our three local tracks (and many street stock classes at other tracks) consist of the Traxxas Slash 2wd high center gravity chassis. must remain stock, no upgraded or aluminum parts. Hobbywing Justock ESC and Justock 13.5 motor. The only thing you are really allowed to do is changes shock oils, aftermarket springs, flip the right rear arm and run a 86 spur with I believe an option of 25, 26 or 27 tooth pinion. everything else must remain stock.

@@jbtricklerc see where we run it's called street stock and it is a box stock class but it's a 12-turn motor ESC that comes out of the box and then we have a super late model class that is the Traxxas Slash VXL with the Lcg but it's with the big VXL motor and ESC combo. And you can only run the McAllister NextGen Camaro NASCAR body everything else is stock did not know they had a super Street class that was a 13.5 motor. Thank you for the information...

most of these classes call for any mudboss battery pack and battery rule, which is a 5200 2S 7.4v battery not exceeding 50C rating. a lot of battery companys even advertise them as "mudboss" batteries.

I cannot recall right off the top of my head. Depending on type of race and if it's a club race or series race it may vary. But Its usually going to be between $10 to $20 per class with multi class discounts (based on previous experiences). Usually you can find costs on the tracks home Facebook pages as well.
