There is a new premium rc drift gyro on the market!!!

I picked this up to give it a test. Is it as good as my favorite Futaba GYD450? Is it as good as the Yokomo DP-302V4?? What is the difference between the different gyro settings or levels?
I test it both on carpet and concrete to really see how it performs.

Hello. I just installed Revox gyro onto my D5s kit last two night. Paired with SPT 10kg servo it works like a charm! Only down side with cheap servo is that ive set my gain at 50% with curve setting #3, the servo do wobbles. No issue on the gyro, it do helps with long slides

Hey Troy, I know you mentioned you like the stock settings but have you tried using the programmer from the RS-ST with the RevoX? RêveD state that you can use the programmer for the REVOX too and that you can change the overall behavior of the gyro so you get the control you want. I believe you can even assign your own different presets to each of the six designations too but don’t quote me on it. Anyway Troy, I’m glad to see you give it an honest review. I’m also grateful for the input regarding the 550. I’d always assumed that it was meant for the 7- and 10PXR transmitters. Now if only FlySky would do something similar for the Noble NB4 as Futaba have for the 7PXR and 10PXR and the GYD550…

That is interesting about the Revox with the RS-ST programmer! I will need to try it. That might really make a difference! I agree - if Flysky could come out with something to rival the Futaba equipment, that would get a lot of attention.

Having more curve or preset or mode or gyro blinks is like having more gain at the begining of the initiation and normal gain when you are holding your angle afterwards While avcs in gyd450 assists you end to end. Sometimes you will get frustrated of it because the car can straighten easily

I had this gyro working and loved it on setting 3, still newer to the RC drifting scene but I had some electrical issues I had to swap out and get figured out and now the gyro isn't working and just has a white light on where it used to be blinking blue with whatever setting I had. Do you know what this means by chance? I have been trying to find some information but no luck so far. Thank you in advance, Great video as usual!

First thing to double-check is if all wires are plugged in correctly. Very easy to get one backwards.

Hey Troy, thanks for the video. Fyi, Noticed something odd though. Even though it is a new gyro, it shows discontinued in the Amain online store. Barely a month after putting it in the store. Still see it at other vendors though. 🤷🏻‍♂️. I was able to snag a GYD 450 at least before they are gone. Hurricane

Thank you for the review on the Reved gyro,I was between this gyro and the yokomo V4 couple of weeks ago.I choosed the V4 and boy I was so wrong,this yokomo gyro is acting so weird,I use it with a Futaba 7PXR radio,reved servo on my RMX 2.5 RS chasis..I also have a Futaba GYD450 gyro on my other RMX 2.5 S chasis,also reved servo with a Futaba 4PM radio and this is working amazing,unbelievable good,I just love it..Now I don't know what to do: swap the yokomo v4 with a GYD450 or GYD550 gyro on my first chasis with the Futaba 7PXR radio?Because I just can't get it work as good as the second chasis with the GYD450.Did you tried the GYD550 do you think is as good as GYD450?

The 550 is supposed to be better than the 450, but needs a controller like you have (7pxr) to work properly. I don't have one, so never tried it.

@@killerrexunleashed Just drove the GYD470 for the first time! Review video coming out soon. A really solid gyro - no regrets purchase since the 450 is harder to get ahold of.

@@RoadsideRC The GYD550 works with the T4PM transmitter. Just has to have the later software (4.0 or higher for both) in the Tx and Rx. Futaba seems to like to leave the T4PM out of documentation of being able to control higher end Futaba components.

Not sure if this is correct but if you are using your CH3 to adjust your gyro the 6 button switch would make a difference. If the third channel was unplugged then the 6 switch settings would work maybe?

If you decide to use Revo, they need to be good, I don't have it, but I think the setting is 1 narrow, 6 wider, what I'm saying, the first have a narrow angle you need to steer more to get the activation, but can be activated how the rc is drifting angle, and the high the number the sensitivity increase, because you enter in the angle more

I believe I have the Yeah Racing sitting on my workbench. My favorite gyro is still the GYD450, but it is harder to get ahold of now. I think I prefer this ReveD over the Yokomo.

My son and I both have rmx 2.0 and we're one upgrade from the stock gyro I figured the V4 would be the step in the right direction we still have the stock radios too.

The HackSlider is okay. Not a great gyro but it works but isn’t as good as the Yokomo YG-302. For the money though, I highly recommend a DP-302 V4. Better sensitivity, no “hunting” of the front wheels and it’s programable to fit your driving style via OTA adapter. Seriously, don’t waste your time with the Yeah Racing gyro. It’s better than RTR but it’s not great at the price. If you want to go far in RWD competition, save the money spent on the Hackslider and buy a Yokomo gyro.

This is MUCH better than the stock gyro. The factory RTR controller will not be good enough to run it. You need to be able to control the third channel to set the gyro gain.

I completely missed that in the video!!!! Oh no!!! Simple guide for you: 1) Hold the red button down while powering the car on 2) Release when the LED blinks 3) Turn the wheel (from the controller) to where you want the right endpoint to be - push the button 4) do the same for the left 5) let the wheels return to center, and wait for the LED to stop blinking. 6) Go drive!

Will a Gyro make me able to make a drift car out of a Tekno 4x4 SCT? I taped up my tires and it works, but I’m thinking about getting a gyro for off weeks when I want to take it to the local pavilion.

Sorry, but no. For AWD, you do not need a gyro. It will actually fight what you need for AWD.

Ok I was jw. Kinda wanna try a new gyro. Starting to not like my gyd470 because of the steering being softened from the gyro. Does this gyro have the same affect? It doesn’t have the speed I’d like compared to another gyro I have. The gyd470 is slower for some reason.

@@DabbathaHut If you have the GYD470 in AVCS mode, then just put it into normal mode. Will make a big difference at zero cost. I don't typically worry about steering speed in my drift cars, so not 100% sure what the right answer is for you.

So I just bought a used RMX 2.0, barely used. The kid drove it once and his girlfriend made him sell it. Anyway what kind of tires should I buy to practice on flat pavement? Not smooth but flat. I cant go to my Hobby Shop everyday to practice.

That type of pavement will tear through some tires pretty quickly, so you need to get some cheaper ones for sure. Good news - they are all cheap! :) These Yokomo DRA tires are made for asphalt and are really good. However, you might be able to get away with cheaper sets: amzn.to/43AqDR5 They are a good starting point for you though.

Troy. I have a question 4 u. I have a reved sevo and its slow. I bought the usb programmer and bumped up the speed still slow. Than just to try the servo itself i connected to the receiver channel directly without the gyro between and guess what it is speedy is good as it should be. What can be the issue. By the way im using the G1 gyro from HD i think. I did manage to grab a revox gyro also which is on its way now. i hope Reve d gyro and servo will be working together as charm

That does seem odd. Not sure how slow is "slow". Honestly, I don't worry about the speed of my servos. Slower can mean smoother...

@roadsiderc same thing is happening to my Reeve D servo. But I was using the Yokomo V4 Gyro and it was defective. Now I guess I will buy the Reeve D gyro to match the servo amd see if I can finally drift my car after over 1k spent on it.😂

Maybe someone can help with this. Is a gyro just a gyro, or is there alot of difference in it being a "drift" gyro. The only reason I ask is that I've been wanting to put one in my fazer, I just don't drift but I like the extra stability that a gyro provides under acceleration.

There is a large difference between drift gyros and standard stability gyros. You don't want a drift gyro if you are only looking for stability under acceleration.

Unfortunately, you can not use it with the stock radio. The radio has to have the ability to set the gyro gain. For the RMX2.5, I would suggest your first upgrade should be the radio itself.
