Just got the Sony XBR65Z9F and now I have upgraded from my Yamaha RX-V675 to the RX-A870 in order to pass 4K HDR content since all audio will come through the receiver. I have a professional audio/video calibrator scheduled to calibrate both and looking forward to it. It was night and day difference and what he was able to do with the overall sound in comparison to using the YPAO to calibrate yourself. His service is pricey but it's insane the differences you see and hear from what most think is a waste of time and money. You have some really good equipment and I'm curious if you ever had your audio professionally tuned?

I don't think you're going to be able to use all of your channels on your monolith amp. Unless you figure something else I haven't. It restricts it to certain areas depending on what you choose (front 3, surrounds, presence channels). Isn't a straight pass through like a processor as far as I can tell. Didn't know if this was your plan, but it was a surprise to me when trying to configure my setup

Ah right cool. So has anyone any idea where we can get”working” Auro 3D to demo? Off topic I know, sorry. But I’ve tried dts-x and atmos. My receiver is a beast too. But there is not Auro 3D in the uk yet? My receiver does all 3 from the box, and I’m getting so tense now I just want to give up on Auro. Should we all just forget they even brought a format out? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Duane Bennett hi, isn’t there music discs on amazon that sell a few aura 3D discs. I have two discs myself, Parallax eden by David Miles Huber , it has Auro 3D and Dts blu Ray disc on amazon. Then there is, Electronic Opus, high fidelity, Amazon.com also, but you have to have a decent disc player that can play All discs

Only one I can find is the parallax, and it’s currently unavailable. But going deeper into my point, dolby do some free “native” if you will, atmos content, which, in the name of “try us out, where brilliant” ,”maybe you’ll invest in us” atmos did a great job here. I have many of the movies Auro technologies say are available in Auro, on steelbooks, and everyone is in atmos. Do I have to shop somewhere specific for Auro?

Duane Bennett if you have your speakers set up for auro 3-D then yes it sounds great, it will still sound good even with the Dolby Atmos set up, . I have the Oppo player, it’s great, there is also the High Fidelity Electronic Opus Pure Audio Blu-Ray disc from 2015 that has native auro 3 d and dts Hd master audio 5.1, and 9.1 the 9.1 is auro 3 d , I bought this at amazon, so not bad I guess. It’s hard not much out there, but lots of Atmos, and some DTS-X like Crimson Peak, so enjoy, by the way I own the Denon x6300h, love it, along with the Emotiva xpa3 power amp, Svs dual subs, and some good speakers, Svs ultras, and a mix, for my taste in sound

I like Yamaha I’m still using a rxv-667 7.2 reciver yet they are all changing so much probably going a pre/pro in the end

That metal audio rack doesnt vibrate crazy with that svs sub?

The Subwoofer itself doesn't cause vibrations with its Internal bracing and soft rubbery feet on the bottom. Plus I don't play it that loud

So your getting a mono7, are you going to use the 2ch emotiva for at least 2of the atmos chanells? Or does this Yamaha only have 7.1 pre outs?

I'll use it for 2 of the 4 Atmos channels for now but eventually will either sell the Emotiva or use it in a second listening room

@@Kpaceguy ooh thats nice , with yamaha is nothing wrong. I was thinking to upgrade my Onkyo TX-RZ800, but i decide to buy a power amp , 7 channels, 110 watt rms , more then enough for the klipsch , gonna give even beter details and sound . Enjoy man !! Nice avr i like the design

Kpaceguy..I've had my 3070 since June and I'm very happy with it. I upgrade from a 850. I hope the add the new format "Enhanced Imax" like Denon/Marantz.

You are lucky they have replaced yours. They replace units only from "authorized sellers". Learned it the hard way.

@@SuperHeroINTJ I had multiple problems from no proper bass through my subs 4K HDR PASSTHROUGH DIDN'T WORK I RETURNED IT AND GOT THE MARANTZ NOT AS MUCH POWER BUT IM RUNNING EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER MARANTZ ROOM CORRECTION BASS MANAGEMENT AND OVERALL SOUND HAS BEEN FAR BETTER IN MY OPINION

I have that same receiver and it’s a beast. It stays cool no matter how hard you drive it unlike the new Denon and marantz.

My RX-A3070 receiver makes an annoying high frequency noise and Yamaha ain't fixing it. It's a lottery, not all units are bad but some are.
