The part at 4:40 made me think of a "how many jelly beans are in the jar" experiment, where they had a large number of people guess how many beans were in the jar, and the guesses, when averaged out, were startlingly accurate.

Rohit Bhatia I do admitt: I am so, sooooo, glad that i am NOT that attractive! UUUGGH; What a hell it would be, with all the trouble-makers in society, who needs (or wants) extra stink to attract attention of such shitty people?!?? Having magnetos superpowers would/could be cool, star Trek technology, or Q's "imminent powers that be", would be really neat. I think that after a short while, it would become boring and uninteresting. Until then: just too damn dangerous! I know that there is a God that prevents us from attaining such superiority! 😏

Your videos are great, i love how you work hard to make your videos with quality, even adding a subtitle!(which for me is really useful as english isnt my primary language so it is a bit harder to understand people talking it). I love how you also dont make popularity as primary goal, instead of asking for likes in the beggining of the video, you say "Like if you did like" in the end. That is really nobel. Your channel deserves much more.

Nobel? That's the name of a prize (named after Alfred Nobel). I think you meant "noble". Unless you mean that he's suited for winning a Nobel prize... I'm not an English speaker either, and I also appreciate the subtitles.

Now time to get 2x 200w by 50h magnets ;) that would be a beast and would be very interesting as I think it would be the same area as the other magnet but 1 is wider and the other taller. Would love to see the results vs them. Please magnet company send Mr Brainiac another magnet.

I agree that you should not have adjusted for weight because the more material that the sample has, the more material the magnet effects. Similarly to how two objects of differing mass fall as the same speed in a vacuum. P.S. love your videos, keep up the good work! :D

The acceleration due to a force (F=ma) and the magnetic force on the sample (~F=mBcos(θ)) both scale linearly with the mass so having more mass with the same distance (constant B) should not change the acceleration.

So close! I actually went back to the previous video and checked whether you had measured from the center or the edge, but then I completely forgot to add the increase in thickness. If I had added half of the 50mm increase in thickness over the single magnet, I would have had a range of 222.5 to 223.5cm. The range was to account for unknown rounding errors in the supplied data. Edit - I just realized that there is no way that the 175cm data point I used could have been rounded up, due to the original single magnet being measured in 1cm increments. The single 150*50mm magnet may have actually passed at 175.8cm, and still failed at 176cm. I'm guessing it wasn't 175.8cm, since you would have noticed that it was nearly passing at 176cm and likely gone back to check at 175.5cm. I doubt I would have thought of that when I was making my guess.

You know how some places have signs up warning of microwave radiation? With a magnet collection as large and powerful as you have, you might consider posting magnetic field warnings near your front door, just for a lark! Another excellent video; from one perfectionist to another, I love the exquisite care you take in conducting these tests and how meticulously you document the results. I think you've covered this in bits through previous episodes, but might you consider devoting one video to inventorying your collection? It'd be awesome to see it in one spot all at once!
