Hey mate ball valves are great if you don’t have wavemakers facing the weir as the extra and less intermittent water going in weir through combs makes tuning the ball valves impossible, try a gyre pump or put your choice of pump going across the tank closer to the front glass so it avoids the weir, it will silence your tank ;)

Peter Burke The tank is nearly silent overflow wise now, I think it just needed to bed in and get some slime coating through the pipes.

John Hewitt lol 😂 I think it will be good mate, they review really well. It’s a good size with loads of adjustment because of the DC pump so I’m confident it will pull some crap out.

I cant remember off the top of my head. Its a titanium one but not the aqua medic one.

Exact same problem with my ea reef 1200 (non pro) same dimensions, the water level is hard to manage , have to constantly tweak it, either the auto top off sensor is below or drains the r.o reservoir. Did you manage to resolve this? If so please share your secret, it’s driving me nuts, I’m brand new to marine too lol

Sonder Cichlids and saltwater yeah I find I use a combination of the ball valve and the controllable DC return pump adjustment to get it where I want it. For real accuracy I think it’s an idea to change out the ball valve for a gate valve which is more easy to manipulate.

Darren's Marine World I have 2 ball valves on the drain pipes, it's hard plumbed by the previous owner, except the return which is hose from the return up to a t piece that goes to both returns. No weir , unlike the latest pro model. But for £250 I can't complain. I watched your video on the deltec skimmer but I was warned off the dc and managed to find a brand new 1350 ac at my nearest Maidenhead. Plus a sc1455 for my larger tank. Got both new for peanuts. I've been looking at the octopus or bubble King. Really impressed by the red devil pumps. Thanks for the response 👍🏻

Love the vids - but dude that noise at the beginning and 45 seconds of it too - still get a like for the vid tho - i'm currently weighing up this against the red sea - at least its british
