I agree, I quit buying it a couple years ago but I think I’m going to get a hobby box. Plus it’s about as good of a price point as you can get for a hobby box.

Totally agree. It’s the first thing my buddy and I said when we opened the first hobby. They just seem like they’ve been cut better and the card stock is much more sturdy.

I love the dog show cards. They got the ribbon off the trainers of the best in show and put that on a card. I think there’s 4 different 1/1’s of them.

I like some of the non-player cards, like I was excited to see Teppei Teranishi and Dustin Kensrue of the band Thrice. A couple years ago Ian Grushka, the bassist of one of my all time favorite bands in New Found Glory, was in Allen and Ginter. Unfortunately the set had come out after I went to see them that year or I could have gotten one signed at the sound check. I did end up trading a guitar pick I had from a show like 12 years ago with him. He took my old pick, played a few songs on it, and gave it back to me, so that was pretty cool!

I love this set. It's a very fun rip. That numbered Gold Filigree is the biggest hit. Another SSP to look out for is the Mini in Actions and also the Mini-rub this card (scratch the itch) insert. They are SSP cards that you rub, and they have a flavored scent. MLB Trivia - In the 1991 NES game "Bases Loaded", Barry Bonds was called "Barry Stock" for the Pirates. He has an LLC, which is why they haven't made his cards in a while.

I pulled a box loader jumbo card , it's 1/99 George Washington, so there's definitely numbered cards. Probably going to grade it instead of ripping it

I didnt know that rip cards were considered hits. I was pissed I pulled 2 relics and no auto. Rip card had a Tatis Jr mini. The xray inserts are a nice touch.

It's a foil hot box. I know previously they were one box per case, so I'd imagine it should still be the same this year. I opened 2 when I first bought boxes last year and one of the 2 was the foil hot box

Pertaining to your Bonds comment: Can card companies use the likeness of a retired MLB player, for a card, without that player signing a contract for Likeness Rights? Not sure about sports card companies; but I know video companies can't use a player's likeness without the player signing a Likeness Rights contract. That's why you don't see Bonds ìn MLB The Show. Maybe he doesn't want anymore cards of him produced?

I love allen and ginter. It's a fun rip with interesting cards. Swift is a writer and actor and is best known for being on Ted Lasso. Maybe it's just me but I think calling them "weirdo" cards is pretty dismissive. I know you really just know baseball but these other cards are fun and carry real value. All the members of two awesome punk bands Thrice and The Bouncing Souls are in this year's set and I'll be chasing them.

The only reason these cards might be worth buying is the fact that as many trash cards they give you, it's a lot of cards in the box. The whole dog and zoo animal thing really doesn't interest me. JMO.

The tickle in the throat simply means.....hummmmm....clearing my throat, no it may mean just smelling new cards. I never thought Allen and Ginter were any good as you know what I think about Topps in general? They still jack up thier price chrome or not, it's a shame because some of us small time collectors never seem to get a shot at buying these boxes. I went to Topps web site and wanted to buy 3 but, instead said: Sold Out, really! I tried on different days, the hobby boxes, monster boxes=none. So, I guess Topps is still mad at me which is fine because I sent them proof of miscuts, non even bording, and reverse mirroring on new cards 2024 in Heritage, new updates ect., whatever. Who cares about Topps?
