I have a collection of 1 million plus cards, 30+ Mantles w’autos, some Ruth’s, a Erving/Bird/Magic rookie, 7 Rice RC’s, tons of Mays/Aaron/Yaz along with 8xClemens RC’s, just an absolutely ridiculous volume of cards going back to 40’s-50’s. Visit some local card shows around your area if you can. It's not exactly the same because the cards aren't yours, but you get to see some really unique, expensive, and odd things you wouldn't ever get to see in person otherwise. Collecting is so expensive these days, I totally get the struggle. I hope one day the bubble pops and prices return to what they were back when I collected heavily in 2012-2016.

I would watch an hour long edit goin through everything slowly... this a great collection with so many hidden gems. It would be interesting to see a sequel where you read down how you ended up doing between COMC, Ebay and Whatnot. Based on what you've showed you definitely did well - but you also have to add flight, hotel, grading cost, and then of course subtract COMC fees, Ebay & Whatnot fees - I would love to know where it pans out all said and done. But I think this kind of buying is the way to go if you can find collections like this, and are willing to put in all the work required to then sell it all. Great vid!

When I see this, I’m reminded of the late 80s and early 90s (yes, I’m old). My buddy and I owned a SportsCard store on US-1 in CT. We had tons of modern baseball, football, basketball cards, etc. The bottom fell out of the market and we were sitting on tons of basically worthless inventory. Our vintage stuff held up relatively well… in short, a cautionary tale: don’t buy too much into the hype.

I’m recently back into collecting. I really find myself buying the errors from our days and the rookies I always wanted to have but never pack pulled as a kid. Just bought 3 Griffey rookies I didn’t have, the Billy Ripken FFace card, etc. Those cards should hold their minimal value that they are currently worth. I did buy an estate sale from a card shop owner in FL and wound up with about 75 early Jeter cards, ARod rookies, Frank Thomas rookies and about 80 different Rickey Henderson cards so that was a win on a gamble

@ I sold a lot to my buddy to help fund a trip to Jamaica for Spring Break. He kept the store open and used the proceeds to help him pay his tuition at Wesleyan. Then he closed up shop. Thanks for asking. It was an adventure. I still have some of those cards from back in the day and I’ve added a few since. Just gave myself a Christmas present: PSA 5 Koufax 1957. 😁
