Is the legendary VOX Continental and the first demo without to show the most important !!!! THE ORGAN SOUNDS
@martenrichens2377 жыл бұрын
+1 Why gloss over the main thing that people are going to want from this? It's a Vox Continental for chuff's sake, show us the organ! Also have to agree with other commenters, why the 'normal' keys and not the reverse ones of, oh I dunno, a VOX CONTINENTAL!?

The negative Nelly's on here seem to be missing the point. Some people might appreciate a keyboard with vintage sounds without endless menu diving. Simplicity is the appeal for me. I'm an old fart and Wurly or Vox at the push of a button makes me want one.

"That nice FM piano" are words that should never be heard in a demo of a reissue of the Vox Continental. Or anywhere else. Ever.
@vforvillain777 жыл бұрын
i was gonna add, "or anywhere ever" but you beat me to it. DX pianos should have died a long time ago. The only people that like them are the guys that choose factory presets for your synth
@therealborischang7 жыл бұрын
+vforvillain77 Fvcking A man. I owned a real DX7 in the early eighties and detested the FM piano sounds. In fact most FM instrument sounds were trash to me. It was the synth sounds that attracted me to it in the first -lace.
@peterstanton42836 жыл бұрын
raistaparta, you are exactly right, it's because Korg likes to pretend they're selling something new, when it's the same thing under a red painted, actually very pretty looking synth. I'll stick with my Kronos, i just buy 3rd party sounds whenever I need to sound like something else, either a VOX or an orchestra, don't matter, all these sounds are available without having to spend another 3 grand on a copy of what was made a life time ago. The VOX organ is great, don't get me wrong, but this is not a true remake. And exactly as you said, what's a demo of a VOX doing using FM piano sounds as part of their selling point? Reminds me of this blonde who'd keeping dying her hair red, as if to say she could be my "FM" or "VOX" any day of the week, LOL

@peterstanton42836 жыл бұрын
NO!!! M.B. G, your Kronos can sound better and more realistic without having to fork out another 3 grand. Don't you realize you have a full fledged 30G sampler inside your Kronos? Just hunt out 3rd party sounds, and for a few hundred bucks, your Kronos is now a VOX and it will sound much more authentic then this pretty red box of a synth. Kronos has horrible VOX samples inside when you first buy it, but not to worry. There are enough 3rd party sounds for sale, all cheap, that turn your Kronos into a VOX, a better Hammond, or full orchestra, just youtube search "korg kronos sounds" or something like that, a whole line of 3rd party sounds will pop, take your pick, they are fantastic and turn your Kronos into a $10,000 workstation, even better! No need to buy anything else :)

Anyone know how to get that great VOX sound on my Kronos? It has 9 synth engines, why didn't they include this VOX organ as well? What exactly is making the VOX sound like that, it has the standard drawbars, but a very unique sound to it, anyone know how to set up the Kronos to sound the same, besides using the HD to record the VOX, obviously that would work. Do you know anyone who is selling such sounds? Lots of Hammond organ sounds for sale, even free, why not VOX? Such a great, classic organ, just wish my Kronos would sound as good! help! :)

Fully agree, that's what made the VOX stand out, yet Korg doesn't even realize that? lame. But it does sound pretty close, and light to carry around, so I'd get one, but I have the Kronos, working on how to get a good VOX sound out of it, surprised it doesn't have it (Kronos has a VOX organ, but it's horrible, not even close!).

@TAYLORStudiosGallery7 жыл бұрын
The new VOX Continental looks innovative in ways and certainly sounds classic, but what's with the traditional key coloring? After all, the BLACK naturals and WHITE accidentals were a major quirk that made the original so visually appealing. This is a detail that the new VOX keyboard sorely lacks. Ya didn't go far enough!

I'm tired with endless digital remakes of the old good instruments like Hammond, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer 200A, Yamaha DX-7, CP-80 etc etc. Why do big companies just keep remaking instead of inventing new sounds like they used to back in 70's and 80's? I wish I could live long enough to see a new boom in development of musical instruments.
@chieftp7 жыл бұрын
you realize all the instruments you listed were imitations of something else, right? how exactly do you "invent" a sound? also, whenever a company does come up with a new instrument, people always complain "it isn't as good as the old stuff! it doesn't sound as good as the old stuff! why can't you just remake the old stuff?!!?" they can't win.
@digitalghosts45997 жыл бұрын
Wurlitzer and Rhodes were imitations of a real piano but at the same time they sounded totally different and interesting that's partly why they became so sucessful. Now we have nearly perfect digital imitations of those oldies but they don't sound any more interesting or different than the originals. It's a boring perfection - that's what I mean.
@Razerblue67 жыл бұрын
Even more so annoying when the digital remakes sound and play extremely horrible and cheap compared to the originals..
@colbalt957 жыл бұрын
Digital Ghosts the Hammond was an alternative to the pipe organ but the top repplier is correct. You're not going to get many new sounds out of a stage instrument because it is made to have a highly sampled few instruments triggered in the fly. Check out workstations like the Korg Kronos or Yamaha Motif if you want a new sound or to build a new one.

Clearly a nostalgia trip thing. There seems to be little resemblance to the vintage Connie. They clone a Nord Electro and put a Vox sticker on it. I am not impressed. No more than if Alfa Romeo put out a roadster with a prancing horse emblem.
@resultant647 жыл бұрын
Like the Electro but cheaper... Piano not good ... pipe organ very good eps nice....
@peterstanton42836 жыл бұрын
btw, I should just say Korg pretty much just ripped off all us Kronos owners by forcing us to spend another nearly 3 grand, when they should have put those fabulous VOX samples as standard when you buy your Kronos. I outbeat them on this, I just found a great 3rd party selling the VOX soundset, loaded them last night, and presto! I'm now playing a white keyed VOX! and it didn't cost me $2,999 either, LOL!
@vforvillain777 жыл бұрын
Guarantee they'll have a reverse key model in a few months after all this complaining. Maybe as a special edition, or maybe permanent, but I wouldn't get too worked up. switching keys is the easiest modification the manufacturer could do to this thing.
@fernandoperdomomusic7 жыл бұрын
So you aesthetically market a keyboard towards the millennial vintage bearded keyboard player market and you stuff it with the absolute worst 80s Chicago piano sounds which are never used anymore. The new price this thing at the same price as the Nord Electro. Pretty shameful

What is this shite? Ruining the reputation of a brilliant and legendary line of combo organs I tell ya!! I do have to say the drawbar touch screen thing for multiple controls is really interesting and cool, but I don't like much else about this honestly... As others pointed out, I guess it's supposed to be a rival to the Nord Electro series, but honestly; using the old Continental line as an excuse to fool customers and people to have the same red color as Nords and tricking people into thinking the original line was superb and this new product must be too, that's a bit low to me. For the 1800-2000 euro price point, it offers nothing what would favor this over a Nord Electro other than the innovative drawbar touchscreen. The Nord line offers more and better sounds. TL;DR A bad attempt at selling a product that tries to compete to something it can't beat and doing that so with carrying over a legendary name. ( also no black keys >:C )

@peterstanton42836 жыл бұрын
The fact they have to add other sounds (Hammond, EP, synths) seems to say the VOX sound isn't all that great. VOX never had to add additional synth sounds, because the organ itself was so incredible. Korg did ok here, but truth is if you want VOX, buy a real one, not a fake like you have here, its not a VOX!!!
