New report offers hope when it comes to lung cancer survival rates

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths, killing more people in the United States than combined colon, breast, and prostate cancers. But a new report is offering some hope when it comes to survival rates.

I’m 74 and still here after 3 years also😅I was told I only had 3 months to live ….. I do believe having no fear of passing over and a positive attatude is vital….. also , not “taking on” others Negitive sympathy, it’s almost like I’m educating people to “let go” of Their fear of cancer, and look on the bright side, I just go with the flow and get on with life😉…I have good days and I have better days🦋I wish your Dad a long happy, pain free life 💞👵🏻🕊️🇦🇺

My mom just died of lung cancer last month. (49 year smoker, 10 years clean) and after looking through her records there were warning signs that were missed. I think maybe she could’ve stressed the fact that she was a long time smoker to try and get an mri. She had a difficult time getting seen by anyone due to the fact that she’d recently changed insurances. It’s been a very rough to process. Especially knowing now the warning signs. :/

I was screened last year where the nodule in my lung had grown. A PET scan indicated it was cancer and I proceeded with an upper right lobectomy via VATS. Thank you Dr. Fuller from Torrance Memorial for saving my life. If you smoke, get scanned! The CT scan is to lung cancer what the mammogram is to breast cancer.

A PET will not indicate if you have cancer. Only a biopsy will do that.
