In the early '90s I knew a guy that made a good living buying "chalk" (those little garden statuettes that look like chalk on the inside if you break them) in Mexico, driving it to the midwest (St Louis, KC, Chicago, etc.) and selling it there, then buying antiques in those towns to fill his now empty 50ft trailer and driving that back home to Denver. For some reason I've always remembered his favorite saying - "You make your money when you buy it".

Yup. Some days I can score well at the thrift store other days I'm batting zero. It's a complete waste of time some days. It's basically a gamble and it gets frustrating after a while.

Thank you for sharing. I buy from Japan and have to pay around 110 shipping to get the inventory to my house. I spend around 300 in items. Even after paying shipping and fees from ebay, I come out with about 1000 an order. It's an expensive method but seems worth it to me.

I sent a $1,200 coin to a buyer on eBay. The buy said the box was empty. Do EBay side with the buy and I lost $1,200. Bern downing for 20 years. I will not longer sale end of items on eBay. They do not back the seller.
