Bad Boy MV is the birth of Joy’s nickname Sexy Dynamite. Supposedly, the director referred to her as Sexy Dynamite the way she exploded onscreen. I’m not going to argue either, every SECOND of this MV is visual PERFECTION, EVERY SECOND. The whole MV is like a visual ATTACK, like damn can I breathe for a second? The song is smooth and soulful, pure VELVET. Really Bad Boy is a vocal flex with Irene (who netizens say isn’t a strong vocalist) doing a whistle note. I’ve heard 1, 2, 5 is referring to Red Velvet being 1 group, with 2 concepts, and 5 members, but I might be wrong. Really Bad Boy has great vocal arrangements and horror references, but SM dropped the ball releasing the song in November. RBB is one of their most underrated albums IMO and ISTG if they don’t perform So Good in concert I will cry in pastel coral. Thanks for the great reaction and feel free to listen to the English version of Bad Boy, lyrics are LETHAL. I saw it LIVE twice and still haven’t recovered. Bad Boy live stages are f-n RIDICULOUS. Bad Boy really cemented my love for kpop and Red Velvet back in the day It's been in my top 10 Kpop songs all time. Then it was fighting for position in my top 10....with newer RV releases like psycho, feel my rhythm and underwater. Yes, RV songs probably take 5 positions in my top 10 all time favorite Kpop songs. That's why i think they're the best group to ever Kpop.

I get it. If I ever try to rank my favorite songs at a given moment there are several RV songs that come to mind even though I have only heard a handful of songs + one amazing album. Fun Fact: Irene is the one who belted out the Scream in Really Bad Boy! It’s the highest note in K-Pop to date and she had to bend over backwards (literally) to get the note out. All the members did takes for the scream, Irene’s was chosen.

You got a sneak peek at the work of art that is Feel My Rhythm 😏 I suggest watching Feel My Rhythm and their Japanese track Wildside that came out a week after FMR to feel the one two punch we got in the spring of 2022. Bad Boy set the entire Kpop world on it's ear when it came out in 2018. Nobody had done "smooth-jazz/girl-crush" quite like it at the time. Unfortunately, it attracted a ton of bandwagon stans. To this day I'm convinced that RBB was a gigantic troll-job on all of them. The howls of outrage when it *wasn't* "Bad Boy 2.0" were deafening.

When most groups announce a comeback, you pretty much know with about 90% certainty what it's going to look and sound like. Red Velvet ALWAYS keeps us guessing. They're not known as the "Chameleons of Kpop" for no reason. RV actually has the chops to pull off any look and sound, but still have it be unmistakably them.

@@riffgroove Yup, yup. the top Experimental Music group. They never sound THE SAME back-to-back. When it's a Velvet song you know it and when it's a Red song you know it. Even when they combine the two (like in 'Psycho'), it's still SO different from anything that anybody else is doing. It keeps everybody guessing and keeps the group fresh, current (more like ahead of the curve, the trend-setters) and most importantly RELEVANT. All of their material is timeless, even their covers. They will always be considered among the best groups and soloists.

Oh yay you reacted to 2 of my favourite red velvet songs! Both of these are such bops, and you are correct; their visuals in these are no joke! Obviously you don’t need to do reactions to this, but more for your own listening interests, there’s an English version of each of these songs! And both are actually really really good English versions that I personally like just as much. So I recommend checking those out when you get a chance. In particular the bad boy English lyrics are sooo sassy, stuff like “everytime I come around, watch him hit the ground”. It’s incredible 😂 But thanks so much for this!! Hi there I'm back. So very happy. Thanks for the shout-out! Good willpower on Feel My Rhythm (also an extreme favourite of mine) I think that the BB/RBB dichotomy is a great representation of their range and also a pretty good peak at their sense of humour. (wouldn't it be funny if our follow up song was shock-horror instead of a groove?) Bad Boy is top 5 for sooooooo many people and I have to admit every time I come back to it I like it far more than I remember. (kind of like merlot). Regardless, they are at the top of their game with visuals and vocals. It's interesting to watch them dance and move as everything is so controlled and conservative in favour of the vocals. I was a little surprised not to see all 5 girls appear boop-boop-boop-boop-boop (👧👧👧👧👧) above your head in the first shot of them together but I suppose with RV we are OT5. RBB is not exactly easy listening but it makes me smile every time it comes up in my playlist. 1, 2, 5 is their sense of humour in a nutshell. Some much of this video is over the top and the music matches it. They spoof themselves, they spoof horror movies, they spoof the kpop industry...and yet? I feel like the video could have been half as good and it would be fine, or that the song could be half as good and we would be amused but they just over-delivered on all counts. So much to enjoy in the background and then the choreo with the hands in front of each others' face or the prancing back and forth on the checkerboard (though I think NewJeans did that for real in Hype Boy) (that's going to get one of us in trouble ;-) Anyway, you can see why RBB came to mind immediately after Peek-A-Boo. I enjoy both videos but I think RBB edges to the top. And Yuqi's Freak was a same-but-different take on the horror trope. Add Russian Roulette by RV, Devil & Hobgoblin by CLC (unfortunately disbanded), Latata and Senorita by (G)i-dle and you've got the groundwork for a pretty good horror/comedy playlist! Thanks for taking the time to document your enjoyment. If you want to pursue silent reactions, I think taking 5-6 slices of your facial expressions over the chorus or the bridge and putting them up as shorts could work ;-)

Honestly I did try putting them all on my "wall" but as you can imagine it got... crowded and when I got to RBB I wanted another picture of each of them and I figured it was too much! Yes I love how weird and fun RBB was and the fact that they did that likely knowing people were expecting Bad Boy p2 (which also would've been absolutely ok with me lol) makes it even funnier to me!
