YES!!! These are 2 of some of my favorite songs in kpop. I judge songs not only by the way they effect me, but also the production quality, because I'm an amateur music producer. These two songs have top tier audio production when you break down the tracks, sequencing, layering, and EQ. And the video editing is insane! If you know video editing, this is very difficult to do. Especially the "paint effect" of the Feel My Rhythm MV. Red Velvet audio production is off the charts. Top tier. Add that to the PHENOMINAL vocals, and that's why they're my 2nd favorite group in KPop. A perfect blend of music. Take a classical music piece, and try to add pop tempo and vocals, and see how insanely hard it is (to do well). Red Velvet is the BEST overall group, in my opinion.

'Psycho' was the song (along with the album it can be found on, called The ReVe Festival: Finale) that the group was promoting on the award shows when Wendy had her accident (Christmas season 2019). It took over a year for her to come back from catastrophic injuries which easily could have become debilitating (the concussion alone could have killed her). Thank all gods that she was fairly young when it happened, so she was able to heal up just fine! AND THANK YOU To Solar of Mamamoo, because Solar is the one who found Wendy and screamed for help! Wendy had been completely immobilized because either 1) it was a broken hip or 2) it was her Pelvic bone that got broken (details were not clear when we heard about this in the Western Hemisphere). Either way, she had to wait in a hospital bed, completely un-able to move on her own for a time, could not do anything at all for herself. When that part was over and she could start moving around, she needed physical therapy in order to re-learn how to walk. She also broke one of her wrists in that fall but really, that was the very least of her problems. The worst injury (besides the concussion) was her shattered cheek-bone, which could have ended her singing career if it did not heal correctly; she could have been in excruciating pain for the rest of her life simply for the act of speaking, let alone singing and hitting those great big belts she can do. Doctors had to wire her jaw shut in order to make sure the cheek bone would heal properly. So not only did she have a head injury and busted-up face but she could not even get up to go to the bathroom on her own for a long time. AND she had to either be fed through a tube or drink all her food through a straw because she could not chew, so that her cheek bone would heal. I once met somebody who had been 'a little bit heavy' before something happened but when I met him he was really thin; his jaw was still wired shut and he explained to me how all of that works and about the weight loss. No matter who you are, if your jaw is wired shut for six weeks, you WILL lose weight. Wendy is already a tiny lady, she did not have any extra to lose so I can see how she could have been absolutely skeletal by the time she started working out and re-training. Of course the other members would visit her whenever they could but they also had to continue working. Irene and Seulgi did their sub-unit stuff, the mini-album 'Monster.' And when Wendy was a little better but was still not very mobile, the other four members ended up taking a trip without her and they talked a little about the devastation they felt as a group. Seulgi, our sweet Teddy Bear, cried just thinking about her best friend's situation (and I can't blame her for that at all). Seems like everything works correctly for Wendy these days but I am sure she FEELS bad weather coming long before it is anywhere near, and I bet she really hates the cold weather now...

The only bright spot of that whole ordeal was how much money Wendy undoubtedly made from SBS' screw up. It would have taken any judge in Korea about 10 seconds to rule in her and SM's favor for gross negligence. I'm sure SBS said "Let's not go to court. How much money will make this right?" Never mind her pain and suffering, she and SM also had to be compensated for her group being out of action for a year. ( If you recall, as soon as the "accident" happened, SM put out a statement that RV would be having no group promotions at all until she was completely healed. ) She and SM got paid BIG time.

Would not surprise me at all to find out that she is now a part-owner of SBS over it... Even if SHE did not want anything to do with suing anybody (because I know she is a sweetheart and would not want anybody fired), her parents could have stepped in and started a case. That's at the very least Negligence on somebody's part... But then SBS also SCREWED the ReVeluvs who had tickets, refused to allow them to sit and watch the rest of the show even if RV was not performing. SBS just had their head all the way up the WRONG place that day.

What you described about their songs is also one of my favorite things about Red Velvet's music and what I sometimes miss when I listen to some other groups that have good songs but the end just doesn't bring it all home for me? And I realized it's because I'm expecting so much more, because I'm expecting something fresh and interesting and satisfying at the end because I'm spoiled by Red Velvet. (I already knew I was spoiled by them in many ways, but this in particular is a huge thing for me and when I find great music like this with a group that delivers it as well as Red Velvet does.... wow it's amazing and it hits as well!) Omg these two songs are sooooo good!!! Feel My Rhythm is so beautiful, and with the Bach mixed in is so perfect and then all the art work in the mv was just the cherry on top!!!!! You should see the performance version its beautiful! Psycho is ICONIC!!!! Actually I don’t think I would have paired these two song together on paper but it work nicely, mortal wounds notwithstanding, and I’ll even credit going out of chronological order being the right way to approach them. Great editing and augmentation ;-) though, and I may have been distracted, I am surprised there was no mention of Octoberfest dresses? I like it when classical samples appear in K-pop but this track went above and beyond. SM has been a bit messy about how they’ve supported RV but Feel My Rhythm is one of the reasons I am solidly on board for the next comeback. On the discord i put some previous summer releases: Red Flavour and Power Up which might? correspond to the upcoming single, but who knows based on what we’ve seen so far this year. Feel My Rhythm is amazing - but Psycho is unblemished perfection. It is the song that turned me into a die hard ReveLuv. The song is one of my favorite songs (of any genre) and the MV is stunningly crafted and as flawless as the song. Both songs showcase the layering, harmonies, and ad-libs have come to define Red Velvet. They know what they're doing. (Seulgi biting the strawberry ended everyone - you're not alone; and whatever that knee swag choreo in Psycho was... it's good to be a ReveLuv!) First of all that strawberry edit is freaking hilarious 🤣 now that we got that out of the way a few things about these songs: FMR is in my opinion the most aesthetically pleasing and one of the most artistic MVs/concepts in all of Kpop. The way they sampled freaking Bach and made it sound so good is wild and was kind of starting a trend of groups using classical samples for their songs (for example BP with Shut Down is one of them you know). Psycho is probably the most iconic Red Velvet/K-Pop song and comeback I experienced being released since I got into K-Pop and I feel like everyone who's a fan needs to listen to this song, so congrats for getting this off your list haha. It's also objectively Red Velvet's most successfull song when it comes to charts, views, streaming etc. and it was very well received at the time but for Reveluvs that era also left a bitter taste because right after the release of Psycho Wendy's accident happened which kept her out of the public eye for well over a year. It was my first comeback with Red Velvet so I will always have a soft spot for this MV & I hope for you it will be similiar with the upcoming comeback. Red Velvet puts a LOT of work into their bridges. ( I don't think anyone at HYBE knows what they actually are... ) RV are reknowned for them, and they really serve a purpose in their overall sound. Psycho was really bittersweet for RV fans. 3 days after the song dropped, Wendy was very nearly killed in a horrible instance backstage at an awards show. She fell nearly 4 meters onto a bare concrete floor, fracturing her wrist, her hip, and cracking her cheekbone. ( The poor girl didn't let go of her microphone all the way to the hospital. ) She spent 3 months in the hospital and then another 4 in outpatient care. It was a full year before we saw Red Velvet perform as a group again, and we were all very worried about what kind of shape she'd be in when we saw her again. Fortunately as good as new, but we were robbed of one of our best eras. As an aside, what the song accomplished on its own with no promotion by the group itself was staggering. This was THAT SONG in 2020. It was *everywhere.* FMR is one of my personal favorites from the group. THAT is how you properly sample a classical piece. Johann Sébastien Bach would be very proud. I love your reactions, they're always funny and entertaining. Insightful as well. You notice things a lot of other reactors don't. I love watching people who actually KNOW music react to RV. Billboard didn't call them the "Best Idol group alive" for no reason. Comeback on the 24th!

Not sure if you know, but I think we only got one Psycho stage with Wendy in 2019/2020, because she suffered an accident soon after it came out. The song was released December 23rd 2019, and on the 25th she fell off a 2.5 meter (8.2feet) height during a rehearsal for a solo stage for SBS. She was told to go down a set of stairs that weren't there, and it was dark enough for her not to see they weren't set up properly or something. She broke her wrist, had a pelvic and a cheekbone fracture, as well as other smalled injuries. She spent 2 months hospitalized and Red Velvet had no releases as a group up to august, when they released their cover of BoA's Milky Way, which I also recommend. A year later, they had their comeback with Queendom (there were other activities in between, but those were the big ones).

Genuinely both Psycho and Feel My Rhythm changed my life, I swear every time I listen to them, every single molecule in my body does somersaults. I mean, HOW DO THESE SONGS EVEN EXIST THEY ARE SO GOOD!!!??? Even the intros to these songs make me go just absolutely FERAL. FMR is BEYOND heavenly! It really feels like I'm in a completely other world when I hear it. And Psycho is so haunting, yet so incredibly hopeful to me. There's something about the instrumental to Psycho, that wave of reverb that hits and overflows at the very start of each chorus, that fits so well! And sampling Air by Bach for FMR is just iconic. I love love love Yeri and Irene's parts in both songs! Yeri's voice is so soft and sounds so snowy to me! And Irene's deep voice, in Psycho especially, is perfection!!!! Side note: omg,,,the strawberry scene,,,my heart
