NEW REVLON One-Step-Styler!
Revlon came out with the new one-step-styler. Is it new and impoved or just new without many impovements, since it is coming at a lower price point. Obviously we're going to put the new one-step-styler hair tool vs the original hair styling tool. There are a list of impovement we were looking for that we mentioned in the original video review, so let's see if Revlon actually made any changes to their original hair tool. Also, let me know if any of you have already tried this new hair tool and your thoughts on it.

I completely disagree, I think the new one improved many things! Mine is way less hot then the original, the titanium plates leave it silkier, and the smaller barrel leaves and makes it easy to curl my ends and get my roots dryer easier. I have recommended everyone who had the old one to get this one!! So far, they’ve all agreed!

I am little surprised at the outcome. I bought one a few weeks ago and I love it. No issues with air flow and always run on medium. I also have the original and was so excited to see the smaller version. My hair is thin, fine, curly and shoulder length. So this smaller version is perfect for me. I used to mumble “I wish it was smaller” every time I used the old one! Oh and this one seems to be a little easier to clean. Love your reviews, thank you.

Thanks for this, I’m going to try it. The original is awkwardly big & bulky so I don’t like using it. Even though I like the results. I’ve looked & cant find any other smaller sized brush blower with good reviews & comparable price.

Do you still like the smaller one? I have a Bob, and my hair is fine and medium density, so I'm looking for something that isn't massive. If you were to purchase a smaller dryer, would it be the smaller Revlon one again, or different small one?

@@sigh_anna I too wear a shoulder grazing bob. I absolutely would purchase this again. Prior to this smaller version I purchased a well rated John Freda round dryer and it can not compare. I think the oval shape of the Revlon brush keeps the hair from getting caught in the brush. Hope that makes sense. (Also could not go back to the larger version)

I own the original which I love. My only complaint was the brush is too wide and I was unable to get a curl when drying my hair. I just purchased the newest model which has a smaller barrel. It makes such a difference in styling my hair. It has all the benefits of the original brush and I am able to make soft curles. I have no problem with the air flow with the new model. Definitely worth the purchase!!

I love the OG. It does get hot but once you're use to it, it's not an issue. I also go over my hair once dried with the cool setting. Not sure if it makes a difference to do that but I like to do it. I think it's a great product if you don't have time to blow dry then straighten since it does an ok job at both at once. I did however have the issue that when I 1st bought the OG the boar bristles an plastic bristles bent in a lot places I assume from heat I may have set it down on the vanity while still on long enough to let down the top section of my hair. I'm not sure thats why they bent on that side, but other than that it still works fine & I still use it. I'm glad I bought it. I love your videos btw, I always check your info out before deciding on a purchase. I'd like to see some lower end product videos. I can't afford all the high end products lol. I saw the video where you review the Revlon against Drybar's version. I bought the original version of the Revlon about a month ago and I LOVE it. I have thick hair and it was getting complicated and taking too long drying my hair with a brush and normal hair dryer ugh! I use it on Low only and my hair comes out beautiful, soft, and so shiny! I don't have the problem of it pulling on my hair any differently than using a normal brush with blow dryer method.

I'm surprised to see such a negative review of this new product. I've had the OG Revlon for a couple years now and use it on the daily--I love it! I bought the new dryer at Costco in mid-October when they ran a $15 off special, and I think it is great! But I won't be using it as my daily, not because there is anything wrong with it, but because the smaller barrel is not as ideal for my long hair. (It will be great for my daughter's shorter hair though!) I will be using it, however, as my travel dryer since it weighs less, takes up less space with a smaller barrel, and it comes with an awesome storage/ travel pouch! This reviewer comments about the severe heat, but that is a non-issue when you run it at the lower heat setting, which I always do anyway with the OG. The lower setting still gets plenty warm to efficiently dry my hair with both the OG and the new one. This reviewer also commented about all the heat coming from only the distal end of the dryer, which I don't find to be the case. I will say the air flow is not necessarily entirely consistent throughout the barrel, but on the low setting, there is a relatively even airflow. It still works effectively to dry my hair, and in a timeframe comparable to the OG. If you are in the market for a dryer like this, I would recommend the new Revlon over the larger OG if you have shorter hair. But even if you have longer hair, the new Revlon dryer is still great as a backup or for travel.

I used to blow dry my hair with the regular Revlon once a week, then, I straightened it with a flat iron. I stopped using both and went back to my regular blow drying (brush and blow dryer separately) because I went to cut my hair recently and the hair stylist asked me how I was blow drying my hair; my hair had more split ends than usual, plus my whole hair was insanely frizzy. She even showed me a broken chunk of hair I had in the back of my head. I panicked..! 🤷‍♀️😳 It has been 2 months and I have seen results on my hair. I understood what the hair stylist meant because my hair looks and feel healthier now. It is also more manageable and less frizzy. Is not that I won't use the Revlon again but I will like once a month or so to avoid damaging my hair again.

People with really curly hair can’t do that. We have to style from beginning to end with the brush, and with wetter hair than the average person. My stylist told me that too. She’s from Columbia with curly hair like mine.

The one that I have by Revlon is a round brush and oh my gosh, YES it gets so hot and loud! I wear a glove that came with another tool to keep from burning my hand. I use it to protect my ears also. It comes with two sizes of removable brushes. Not sure if they still make it or not. It also has 3 settings. I finish off my hair on the medium setting because the high setting is just so hot. It IS my go to tool for my hair. I have tried the flat iron, the straightener that you and a friend tried and this is the best tool for me. Have a blessed day.

I love my OG! I’ve been using it for ages. I bought it bc of your original video so thank you! I use it on the low heat setting. My hair is super short right now but when I started using it, it was about your length. In my picture on here I used this tool! I’ve been obsessed since the first time I used it.

So I have the OG and I hit my roots with a regular blow dryer quickly. That way your roots are dry and you don’t have to have the brush so close to your scalp that it burns you. Also saves a lot of time to have your roots dry first!

Flip your head over and just dry your roots with a regular blow dryer to get some volume. I know it “defeats the purpose” of this all in one tool but it makes it a lot faster

But when I do my hair, I have no issues. Weird-maybe you go a defective one??? Take it easy-those postpartum hormones are no joke! 😬

I stopped using my original One Step for a while bc of the breakage it caused but I picked it up again recently and with smaller sections and loosening the grip from mids to ends helps reduce breakage. It does get super hot but I suppose that's what makes it straighten so well. The only pros I see in the new one is the lower price and the storage pouch. Remington is coming out with an oval brush in their Wet 2 Style line and I'd love for you to review it bc I would definitely opt for Remington if I ever need to replace my Revlon.

Hey, I did hear that there was a smaller version of this. But you are the first one that I have seen review this. Thank you so much for your open and honest opinions which is very much appreciated. That doesn't seem good that this should be for sale just because of what you said about the air flow. With you saying that I wouldn't be buying this if it's not going to dry as it should. Thank you so much for reviewing this. I only purchased the original Revlon One Step Hairdryer and Volumiser a couple of months ago. Late starter in that I know and I did watch your review on that a while back and you make it look so easy. I still have to get the hang of it because my hair isn't as smooth as I would like it to be. What type of product do you use before you dry your hair with this? Love you ❤️ and thank you in advance if you are able to reply to this 😘.

My OG one died after 15 months. As I was turning it the motor would cut out, then started making crackling noises. Up until that point, I loved it! I have thick 3b hair and it is so difficult to control after washing. The reason gave me a tool that I could use from wet to dry and finish my hair styling in half an hour. I will miss it, but don't want to pay £50 again for something that will only last just over a year ☹

I just recently bought the original one step. I also have fine and thin hair but I found that the one step makes my hair oilier faster. So I am returning it. I use a good old blow dryer BUT I don’t brush my hair before blow drying and just let it untangle when I blow dry. Yes, it works! Plus, I only have to use low heat flat iron in a few specific places so my hair still is healthy.
